Sending “election monitors” to one county in Maryland and it’s the largest black county in Maryland is very on brand for Trump.
Trump's Justice Department announced it is sending about 1,000 "election monitors" to polling places in all 50 states

This is… objectively untrue and very easily disprovable!
Replying to @maustermuhle
The residents of the 50 states already pay for Washington DC in its entirety.
What’s the difference if they pay more to play at a golf course.

This is the part I want people to understand: In DC we've pre-committed to so many stadium projects that we're close to our statutory debt limit. Instead of stopping there, DC is considering paying Audi Field $300 million directly out of the budget.
Journalists: please find out where she makes money after the dust settles. That will explain everything. Stop being dumbfounded. She’s going to get PAID

Follow. The. Money. She’s burned her political bridges, but whether it’s a lobbying firm or a media company or something else, I’d bet money there is a pile of cash waiting for her
This happened at my daughters school pick up time. It freaked the hell out of people.
Seeing the president’s plane was meant as a treat for those at the White House Halloween event. But for some outside the Executive Mansion, it was more of a scary trick when they looked up yesterday evening to see the underside of a 747 flying low and slow over DC. The video below is the view from across the Potomac in Virginia.
The Washington Post reports that one big complaint from local officials is that they only got 15 minutes' notice about the flyover. The jet, of course, is known as Air Force One when the president is aboard. Flight tracking data showed the plane’s altitude was between 400 and 1000 feet. For reference, the Washington Monument is 555 feet 5 1/8 inches. There was a ground stop at nearby Reagan National Airport during the event. #WhiteHouse #flyover #aviation @ARLnowDOTcom @MidwestSafetyYT @HillaryHowardDC @NFTC_News @matthewyoung31 @MikeEmanuelFox @MacFarlaneNews @Acosta @dclinenews @tomsherwood

The WSJ lays out what keeping Gulf oil flowing actually involves:
-50,000 US troops, 20 Navy ships, two carriers across the region.
-$2–3 Billion USD/month or 67-100 Million USD/day above normal military spending
-Aircraft, warships and crews under mounting strain.
-Some US officials see the situation as untenable without more international help. Coalition efforts have failed.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

In the summers of 2002 and 2003 I commuted every day on the Vienna Metro to Chinatown DC For work.
At that point cell phones existed but nobody was really using them on the train.
It was dead silent every day.
Thousands of Zombies sleepwalking their way home.
People sleeping and doing the thing where their head falls on the shoulder of the person next to them.
Nobody was making friends, we were all trying to get home so we could go to sleep and do it all over again.
Man am I glad that I started my own business where I don't have to do that. That was like 4 or 5 months of my life and I feel like it shortened my lifespan.
On Metro during rush hour, it's gotten to the point where so few people are talking and so many people are on their phones it's almost scary. A train packed with people shouldn't be that quiet! #wmata

Hear me out: @metrobardc, but made with Mobile Lounges. It could be the more sophisticated cousin to Metrobar.
Dulles Airport is moving to retire the Mobile Lounges, seriously.
The latest solicitation in the airport's $20 billion redevelopment includes the AeroTrain extension and tunnels necessary to retire Washingtonian's most loved-to-hate form of transport.
