Michael Tait has apologized.
But no way people for twenty years had very little idea except rumors.
Band mates, producers, show creators, concert directors, agents, etc. There's a LOT of people involved in making music. None of them knew? Or really had any idea?
Either they did and they're lying.
Or we need to have MUCH more accountability for Christian artists.
Or both.
Because this needs to change. Christian music needs an overhaul and it starts with us becoming more discerning in what we listen to and calling for more accountability for those we listen to.
Scripture has STRONG words about false teachers. And I don't think people who sing to thousands of Christians but live double lives are exactly exempt from any standards.

I know far more people who have left Christianity because of the way abuse is enabled through false grace than I do those who left because they felt like failures.
Michael Tait allegedly sexually assaulted men in under his care for YEARS. That’s criminal and makes him a danger. This is far more than just struggling with alcoholism or participating in consensual sex – it’s dangerous.
Grace doesn’t mean we allow people with proven patterns of dangerous to continue to move unchecked in a community
