Saudi Arabia allows no public church while Poland hosts mosques.
The rule on religion in Saudi Arabia is strict. Churches and other non-Muslim houses of worship may not open in public, and Christians may only pray in private. Saudi Arabia is home to Islam's holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, and the kingdom has never allowed a public church.
Polish politician Dominik Tarczyลski pointed to that rule. If they want a mosque in Poland, he wrote, Poland wants a cathedral in Saudi Arabia. Poland itself has no such rule, and mosques already stand in the country.
Should Saudi Arabia allow a public cathedral if countries like Poland allow mosques?
