Uncontrollable Optic Blasts: As soon as he opens his eyes, powerful, uncontrollable red energy beams erupt from them.
Destroying the Tree: The intense optic blasts strike a massive tree on the grounds, tearing through it, splitting it apart, and causing it to catch fire.
Reaction and Containment: Surrounding mutant students (including Jean Grey) and Professor Charles Xavier look on in shock and rush to manage the chaotic outburst.
