today, i’m grateful for notifications from my pals here on twitter and that the onslaught from my viral post has slowed enough for me to finally ignore. so, yes, let’s keep yelling about phil collins and peter gabriel.

devastating. he was the best professor charles xavier and in ‘logan’ when watching shane with laura and said he was the same age as her when the movie first came out. fun fact: that was patrick stewart’s first movie he ever watched and also, logan was heavily inspired by that film. what a loss.
All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

initial thoughts from the flamethrower: macready is probably one of my new favorite characters in this genre. up there with hicks and ripley. i loved the setting, the music, and my goodness, the thing was so gross and so cool. i had zero idea about anything going into this film and i am so glad for that. i love tension throughout. i love the ambiguous ending. honestly, this one is going to be on repeat for years to come. all the while, i hope i don’t get assimilated.
that was AWESOME. more thoughts tomorrow.

as much as i like JAY-Z, i just wish that roc nation (HOV’s own entertainment agency) and the NFL would tap into more current trends or artists and give them a chance at playing on a stage like. artists/bands i’d choose: turnstile zach bryan ella langley noah kahan tame impala deftones kacey musgraves my chemical romance goo goo dolls

one of the most disappointing things about reading the replies to my super bowl post that ALMOST zero of them engaged with the music. they just clocked the race of the artists and treated naming them as evidence of racism. this is what’s broken. taste, genre preference, or “i want something different” is no longer allowed if the people making the music are white. everything gets filtered through racial scorekeeping. suggest rock, country, or indie and you’re coded as anti-black. the same people who would call it racist to reduce artists to their race the other direction do it without hesitation here. music used to be one of the few places left where people could just like what they like. after all this, maybe that window is closing. and that’s the last thing i’ll say about it.

Genuinely don't get how people can't have a civil discussion with strangers on here. If @stephenvstrex 's tweet about Super Bowl Half Time performers he'd like to see shows anything, it's that reading comprehension has gone out the window.

reasons not to follow me 1. i have zero range. music + faith + personal reflection on loop. no hot takes, no chaos, no current events (well, sometimes but i have zero interest in talking politics anymore because people have zero chill and love to seethe), a few memes—just consistent, sincere mid-energy. 2. my nostalgia is aggressive and specific. the OC/Seth Cohen energy, 90’s kid growing up post Y2K, 9/11, 2 desert wars, a recession and we won’t go beyond that because WE KNOW. growing up is for the birds. 3. twitter or X is kinda my private diary with 500 +/– followers and the engagement to match and honestly, i’m thankful you’re following me but don’t follow me. 4. my earnest christian content never clocks out. i share prayer requests, bible verses, i’ll speak of the goodness of God, and the beauty of grace isn’t fair. i love the gospel and you can’t but he did. because he did, you can. 5. i’m a scene-ior citizen and elder emo and i will never ever let that part of me go. i’m also a united states air force veteran who loves our country. who hates our government and taxation is theft. i’m a patriot that’s constantly grieving but i’ll always have your six. the first ammendment still matters and 2A, forever.

my favorite part of twitter is the absolute assumptions of individuals have before even having a decent conversation. in the last hour i’ve been called: racist, uncultured, whiteboy (sorry not sorry for my beautiful heritage ancestry consisted of brave men and women that came from the following: ireland, scotland, russia, germany, croatia and i’m 1/8th jew.), and that i need to shut my b— a double snakes up. and i am just laughing. y’all, need to find some sunshine or read a book.
