A very stressful week trying to beat the weather & plan well in advance of game day! Working through not one but two amber weather warnings, 70+ mm of rainfall in the last few days & 60mph winds today, however the surface handled everything thrown at it! What a team effort! 💪🙌

When you have a 12pm kick off on Sunday afternoon on Sky Sports & have to do match prep on the Thursday at 12pm 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣 forecast for the next 3 days is terrible to say the least! We took the contingency decision to double cut & double line mark today, preying Mother Nature is kind!

Getting the old lights back out and into a routine again whilst we have a quiet week. Light verti-cut and rotary today as the surface was nice and dry 💪 almost seen the benefits instantly after removing 2 boxes of organic material/unwanted waste and letting the pitch breathe!

Another addition to the machinery fleet today! The @DennisMowers ES 34R 🙌 in the last 3 years we’ve changed all mowers to electric & increased the fleet by 75%! Environmental & user friendly & a fantastic high quality machine 🌱great investment & continued backing from the club

Nice opportunity for a rake & rotary cut against the pattern (lengthways) then a cylinder cut against the partern (widthways) then some light rigs in the shaded corner. Nice to see it’s helped straighten up my line marking from previous games 👀🤣

Friday afternoon feels 🙌🔥💚

Really productive start to the week, surface raked to clean out the sward & remove any organic material after a hectic few weeks with 5 usages in 8 days! Followed by a verti-drain, spray & controlled release granule application! 🌱💪🙌

Last night our competitive fixtures kicked off, and a win meant 3 fixtures and 2 training sessions in an 8 day period! 🥵🤣 however I’m absolutely thrilled with how the pitch played and held up, especially after a training session and 10mm of rain the previous night!

And just like that, 2026/27 season is upon us. Last few weeks have been a test with disease pressure & stress, but we’re almost set! Fresh initial line marking done today👌growth levels & coverage are exactly where we want! All set for my 100th match day at Hibs on Saturday 💯💪

Monday morning nightmare combo of leaf spot, brown patch and leaf scorch vs Friday afternoon…. The comeback is always stronger than the setback! Been a stressful week but we’re almost back on track! Spray of @consolidateTurf and an @ICL_Turf granule working away nicely 🌱💪🥵

4 weeks old today! It’s improving every day and showing some really strong growing conditions. Battling the stress with really strong heat conditions and breeze, but it’s handling things pretty well so far! 🥵🔥☀️

3 weeks today from seeding, with another 4 weeks to go before the games come thick and fast! Really happy with the progress and consistency so far! 🌱💪

Emergence at day 5 after seeding vs the first cut at day 12! What a difference a week can make! 💪🌱this is after only one controlled release granule & a wetting agent granule. The 2nd granule feed planned tomorrow to kick things on even more, and push plant density & rooting 🙌

2026/27 surface pending ⏳ a full year of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, stripped away in just a few hours! 🤣 looking forward to getting the seed drilled in the next few days, and beginning the grow in for pre-season! 🌱💪
