something interesting just happened on @Starknet 👀
developer 0xjuno demonstrated post-quantum wallet migration on s
Starknet Sepolia.
the interesting part?
> same wallet address, same funds.
> ECDSA + Falcon-512 transaction succeeded.
> ECDSA-only transaction was rejected.
> 11 wallet account classes reportedly tested.
It's still an unaudited testnet experiment, not a mainnet upgrade.
but this is why Starknet's programmable accounts matter.
security isn't just about protecting what exists today. It's about having the flexibility to adapt to tomorrow's threats.
And Starknet is showing what that flexibility could look like.
Built to Adapt.
Sam Altman (Founder OpenAI)
has everyone talking about how fast AI is moving.
meanwhile, @starknet is building for a future where blockchain need to do more than just process transactions.
> scaling ethereum
> programmable accounts and now
> exploring post-quantum security.
still early, but I'm bullish on the bigger picture.
are you paying attention?

THE BLOCK: Starknet ethereum:0xca14007eff0db1f8135f4c25b34de49ab0d42766 holders overwhelmingly backed research into transitioning from an Ethereum Layer 2 to an independent, post-quantum Layer 1.
More than 93.5% of voting power supported the proposal, with StarkWare targeting a draft whitepaper in November. Further governance approval would be required for the transition.
The Starknet community has voted to research whether Starknet should become an independent, post-quantum L1.
Starting today, a joint @StarkWareLtd × @StarknetFndn working group will lead the research and publish a paper in the coming months.

THE BLOCK: Starknet is launching a seven-day, non-binding initial governance poll on whether to explore becoming an independent post-quantum Layer 1.
A yes vote would trigger further research, followed by more detailed proposals and polls. A no vote would see post-quantum development continue on Starknet as an Ethereum Layer 2.
Starknet is exploring a path towards becoming an independent post-quantum L1.
A governance post is now live with a non-binding poll for STRK holders to share their views.

Listened this morning to @danboneh on @a16zcrypto talking about Lattice-based vs hash-based signatures security/usability tradeoffs, and how recursive proofs could fit in but they are complicated and we don't yet understand their theoretical security well enough.
If only we had a company that deployed recursive proofs in production for years, is led by cryptographers, and built @Starknet , which allows you to choose your own signatures to best leverage your usecase, and is now also looking at solving PQS.
Know someone like that? 👀

Sorry guys, you got this one wrong. Up until a week ago we never said anything like that.
What we did do was build Starknet the way we thought best served its vision. Ethereum labeled it as "misalignment".
We built Starknet as an L2 for Ethereum, but we did it our way: with ZK-STARKs, with Cairo instead of Solidity, and with native AA instead of EOAs. These were, and still are, the best design choices.
We aligned Starknet's architecture with Starknet's vision. For some reason, Ethereum kept treating these choices as misalignment.
Whether Starknet should become an L1 is a new discussion.
Starknet says they are "Activity considering becoming an L1", because Ethereum might not being ready for Q-Day
@TrustlessState is skeptical: "okay guys... @Starknet been posturing about leaving Ethereum as long as I can remember 🤣"
Do you think Starknet will actually do it this time?
