$MSFT's influence on enterprises is something that is underestimated. $MSFT Copilot as a needed skill in job postings is up more than 3x this year. In the last quarter, Copilot in job listings was growing faster than any other AI tool, even $ANT's Claude. data from @QAlphaAI

We often get asked what the best model is in GitHub Copilot. Our team spends an enormous amount of time optimizing the GitHub Copilot harness for the best, most token-efficient results. For the first time, we're publishing our data on what models perform best in Copilot: benchmarks.github.com

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math. It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training. We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵 Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math. rikiyat.github.io/blog/weight-sp… github.com/RikiyaT/lm_und… huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-0… huggingface.co/RikiyaT/Qwen3.…

An agent shouldn't click when it can code. Same spreadsheet task: Qwen3.6-27B, clicking: 9:56 Microsoft's 4B Mage-VL-Cowork, coding: 0:39 It picks per step: 1. Layouts, canvases: click 2. Sheets, docs, slides: code 3. Checking its work: terminal huggingface.co/microsoft/Mag…

💡 SharePoint can be an internal app host for agent-built experiences! @johnnliu shows how agents, SPFx, PnP CLI, full page layouts, and #SharePoint lists can create internal apps with auth and permissions already in place. 📺 Watch now → msft.it/6015aFwsD

Hydrafusion really is cool 🤙
There isn’t one model that’s best at everything anymore. Choosing the right one for each task (without sacrificing quality or paying more than you need to) is a hard engineering problem. That’s what we’re working on with Auto in Copilot. Today, more than 90% of Copilot queries use Auto to dynamically route work across models and optimize for quality, speed, and cost. In this video, I share how it works and chooses the right model for the job...

This week at #PPCC26, I saw one of the best keynotes I have seen in a LONG time…and I see around 200 keynotes a year. The topic was The Future Workplace and the main speaker was Nirav Shah. Now Nirav usually tackles very deep, technical topics but this talk was very different, it talked about what the future workplace will look like based on where our various industries are headed and what we humans need to be doing today to prepare. He started by making the joke of "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas--kind of like your enterprise context." What he meant by that was that the context of your work stays in the app or agent the work happens in. For example, a customer issue to resolution stays in the Customer Support app and is not available to others in the org who could benefit, like the people building the product. This is where the concept of IQ comes in, specifically Work IQ that now connects to your Business Apps! This is a new functionality that connects the context of your various business apps, it improves the more you use it + give it feedback and stays in the flow of where you work rather than dragging you to some new UX. The two parts of Business Apps in Work IQ are: 1. Business Understanding - extends AI reasoning and retrieval to various business data and business processes in the language of YOUR business (TLAs and all!) 2. Business Skills - like an onboarding doc for Agents that empowers agents with reusable skills that any agent can use Then the talk goes on to uses an RFP-to-invoice process to show the difference between a documented business process and actual work. The process on paper is a beautiful linear 6 step thing but as we all know, the real process involves Outlook emails, Teams convos, Word doc revisions, Excel, ERP stuff, and more meetings! And across all these steps, guess where the context stayed? Yes, in the app and DISCONNECTED from all the other apps! The solution is to treat the process as a relay with guardrails with knowledge and actions being shared as needed. Then there were some product demos showing how to build this in Copilot Studio with Keith Ramsdell and governing this whole enchilada in Agent 365 with @mamaspring_24 of course! I loved the idea that after we spent decades teaching people how to use apps, we're now teaching AI + IQ how to navigate our busineses! This was SUCH a good talk--exactly what we need to hear and see given the crossroads all of our orgs are currently in. I really wish it had been recorded, but maybe I can hassle the team to give it again! 10/10 no notes. Great job Nirav and co!

Finance teams help the business understand what's happening and decide what to do next. That takes expertise, and a lot of routine work to get to the insights. Today we're introducing more than 25 new finance skills and plugins in Microsoft Copilot, across Excel and Cowork, to take on more of that work and give you more time for the insights. Copilot understands accounting workflows and can work the way you do. Here's a variance analysis in Excel, using the formulas and layout you want.

Would you spend $1 million a year on AI tokens for a single engineer? Microsoft’s Charles Lamanna says the top coders in his org are on track to exceed that. And that’s with Microsoft’s internal discount. At Madrona’s IA40 Summit, Charles described how software development is changing inside Microsoft. Groups of 15–20 people are completing work in six months that previously would have taken hundreds of people multiple years. And the change goes well beyond generating code. Builders do customer research, design, code the front end and back end, and deploy. Coding agents let them take on more of the work themselves, reducing the meetings, approvals, and handoffs that slow development. So when Charles evaluates that $1M spend for his coders, he's looking at what engineers can now deliver, how quickly, and what that work is worth to the business. The focus is on whether the spend delivers value, and his reaction after reviewing internally was: “Wow, great return on investment. I will do that all day, every day.” That was just one moment in a wide-ranging session at the IA40 Summit. He also covered how Microsoft is turning Copilot into one super app, why he thinks many business apps will end up behind AI agents, and how AI is changing software pricing. In the past few months I got to sit down twice with @harrymccracken and chat about our journey building Scout and now Autopilot. Harry is a curious journalist who takes time to dive deep into things and asks great questions. I didn't know I was referred to as "The Chief Claw Officer" but hey, that sounds good to me! “I went from running a team of a few hundred people around the world to a team of zero people,” he says. “And then building this very small team of very capable individuals who were using @OpenClaw and really wanted to work on this product.” Can't wait to share our work with the world. fastcompany.com/91607730/mic…

Introducing Reality-Aware Rendering in @Simulon, a completely new way to create with the real world. Place neural assets with your phone and act out the scene. When you stop recording, Simulon renders the take, reading everything in it (what you do, what you say and the place around you), and your assets respond to all of it. The final is regenerated from your recording: a new performance of the scene, not a copy of the footage. Available now on iPhone. Coming to Android soon.
