"So there are two lessons here from the history of computers. One is, someone has to rein in the chaos a little bit, and create the habitat for the behavior to thrive in an optimal way. The second lesson is that the chaos is an important indicator in the first place for a kind of behavior that’s really valuable: the kind that creates deep alignment inside the company, for it to do its best work."

London shares Replit’s vision of a world where everyone can benefit from the opportunities of the AI age. I was delighted to open their first international office in King's Cross. It speaks to the extraordinary optimism coming from every corner of our capital’s booming tech sector.

Honored to have the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, help us open Replit’s first international office in London! I’ve really appreciated the Mayor’s approach to AI, it feels very similar to ours. He calls himself an AI realist: clear-eyed about the disruption AI will create, but optimistic about the impact if we give people the tools and skills to participate in the coming revolution. That’s exactly how we think about it at Replit. AI is going to transform work, so we have to make sure far more people can use it to create, build businesses, and access new opportunities. It’s also why, as we establish ourselves here, we’re partnering with The Lord Mayor’s Appeal to help young Londoners from disadvantaged communities develop practical coding and AI skills. London has the history, the talent, and the right leadership & philosophy for the AI era. We’re excited to be here.

I was shocked by how much Free Mode is capable of, actually gasped in internal staff testing. I remember the early days, and the app I was able to build *entirely for free* was more capable and functional than what the entire Agent could build when I joined Replit. Congrats to the team on the launch 🚀

'St. Augustine would say, “You have to tidy up your soul every day the same way you tidy up your kitchen.” If our soul is not tidy, it is not in order. I don’t want to be liable for harm to your soul, and that’s why you’re supposed to leave work to tend to your soul, whatever is good for you. The morning after, when you turn up for work, you will be twice as focused.' -- Cucinelli interview w/ @HollyPetersonNY wsj.com/style/fashion/brunel…

We recently joined NVIDIA, Microsoft, and others in supporting open-weight AI. Today, we’re putting that belief into the product with model choice on Replit, starting with Kimi K3. The future is the right model for the right job, at the right cost.

LLMs benefit greatly from an open ecosystem and it’s the best way to ensure America stays competitive. Replit has been committed to supporting an open ecosystem since we first released our open coding model in 2023 (one of the first on the market). Our letter to congress:
For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-W…

I may not be super interesting, but I’ve worked hard to always be super interested and it has served be well.
Don't worry about being the most interesting person in the room, just try to be the most interested person in the room. The interested person asks about others and leaves a good impression because people like talking about themselves. The interested person is genuinely curious about someone's craft and learns a lot about how things work. The interested person engages with more people and—because opportunities come through people—is more likely to catch a lucky break. In general, the interested person learns more and tends to be well-liked. And in the long run, it's hard to keep down someone who is well-learned and well-liked.

Blocking the bad and removing the noise. Our @SocketSecurity partnership blocks ~8,000 malicious packages a day and filters out 30% of false-positive critical vulnerability alerts, the ones that were never exploitable. We focus on security so you can focus on building.

We did an empirical study that showed that our average employee is now 3x more productive at Replit using the new version of the Replit Agent (yet unreleased). We did that while 2x'ing our workforce, so Replit of July-26 is now 6x more productive than the end of last year. This is not only happening across engineering. All departments show the same trend. We can't wait to bring this power to all of you later this summer!
