A couple of things came to mind.
1. His Mother used to take him for the Darshan of Babulnath Mahadev in his childhood frequently. So he definitely has a deep connection with the specific शिवलिंग
2. By giving Anant Ambani some incurable physical ailment, Divine gave the family a permanent lesson that we human beings, however powerful we seem, are mere mortals and there is a higher power that governs everything.
Probably that is one of the crucial reasons why the family is so openly religious and rooted in Sanatan rituals.
