When Joshua Bell, 20, from the Upper Peninsula, MI, was just two weeks old, his birth father shook him when he cried. It caused him brain damage and broke both his heels.
When he was 18 months old, he was introduced to Heather Bell and her husband. The couple immediately told their social worker they wanted to adopt the little boy.
Unfortunately, doctors were not sure if he would survive. But Heather was determined to help Joshua live. She started teaching him short words and how to crawl. Slowly but surely, Joshua learned to walk, talk and feed himself. Recently, he got his first job at a local supermarket, making his parents very proud.
"Doctors said Joshua would not be an adult. BUT look at him! He's starting his first job," Heather wrote on the video she took of Joshua on his first day at work.
