I will write here.. ✍️

He was 13 when he did it. Twice. Ninety days apart. In the video below, Nickalas Kedrowitz hears his sentence in an Indiana courtroom and breaks down crying. May 2017, Osgood, Indiana. His baby half-sister Desiree, not even two years old, died at home. In July his 11-month-old stepbrother Nathaniel died in the same house. Months later he confessed. He told investigators he was "freeing them from hell." When they asked what hell he meant, he gave them one word. "Chores." That September he nearly killed a kitten in a relative's basement. She told police he had a temper and only thought about himself. A psychologist found him competent to stand trial. His lawyers argued he had serious mental health problems and never got the help he needed. Prosecutors pointed out that the two deaths were three months apart. Not one moment of rage. Two separate decisions. He was tried as an adult. In August 2021 a jury convicted him on both counts. The judge gave him 50 years for each child, back to back. 100 years. For something he did at 13. Should a 13-year-old ever be judged like an adult, or did this case leave the court no other choice?
