what i don’t quite understand, though, is why GMMTV keeps leaning into korean adaptations when they’ve already proven time and time again that they’re more than capable of creating original stories of their own. they have the talent, the creative teams, and the ability to come up with concepts that resonate with audiences. so i can’t help but wonder why there’s still such a strong inclination to revisit stories that have already been told elsewhere, especially when there’s so much room for original thai storytelling to be explored. and if i’m not mistaken, we already have two korean adaptations in this lineup alone? it’s not that adaptations shouldn’t exist or that they can’t turn out well. i just wish GMMTV would put more of that same energy into developing their own stories, taking creative risks, and giving us narratives that only they could bring to life. they’ve shown us that they can do it, so i’d love to see them trust their own storytelling more. anyway, this is just my hot take on this year’s lineup. i know adaptations have their own appeal, and i’m sure there are people who are excited about them. but personally, i’d rather see GMMTV continue building its own catalogue of original stories than rely so heavily on adapting material that already has an established identity. because honestly, they’ve already proven they don’t need someone else’s story to make something worth watching. #GMMTVNEXT
