This incident serves as a wake-up call. Itโs time to say goodbye to the centralized cloud ecosystem โ once and for all.
As a decentralized AI platform, our decentralized GPU cloud remained fully operational throughout the disruption. However, some of our conventional services โ such as our website, frontend, and parts of backend infrastructure โ are still hosted on centralized cloud providers like AWS and GCP.
We never doubted their reliability for such basic infrastructure, yet this black swan event still happened. Even more concerning, similar issues have appeared over the past few days (see this forward).
Moving forward, we are committed to re-architecting ChainOpera AIโs infrastructure to minimize โ and eventually eliminate โ our dependency on centralized cloud services.
