One of the new rules I wrote for my @bot is that it should always ask me questions in a multiple choice format with a questions card. Sometimes it was automatically doing this, but at other times it was just creating a list that I would have to copy paste and reply inline with.
Now I can answer things in a compartmentalized way everytime.
Prompt for the rule: (Sent to my main bot)
"For all bots, please apply this rule:
For all questions to me please create a card where I can select answers or supply input on each question individually"
You are looking at the future of eCommerce. Surface based shopping. Your channels and your site now matter less than having your data structured, and showing up on the surface.
Customers will engage an agent on any number of devices. They will purchase from the phone, or maybe they start on the phone, and then finish the transaction from a cybercab later.
If your product data isn't ready for this you are missing it!
Spotted new shopping cards in @bot 👀
Ask for a product and you get the price, the specs, why it fits you, and every seller side by side, each with a Buy now button.
What would you have it shop for first?
Big news: we "hired" @poteto from the Grok Bot team.
She doesn't know. She doesn't work with us. But she and the rest of the Grok Bot team ship so fast that we built the next best thing.
Every morning, we upgrade our bots. Here's how:
1. A bot reads the Grok Bot changelog and compares it to the last version it saw
2. It reads her new posts on X since the last one it saw
3. It fingerprints her pstack plugin to catch any new or rewritten skill
4. It maps anything new to our actual bots and writes up to 5 upgrades
5. I approve, and it builds them
This morning alone, pstack's new one-command statechart started checking one of our customer texting systems for bugs. One of her posts became a production check for our Stripe bot. And the latest changelog turned into two new safety rules.
That's how fast this team ships. If you're not upgrading your bots every morning, you're falling behind.
How it feels as a builder with a touch of the ‘tism and ADHD using @bot to manage 15 clients across vastly different projects. I’ve found my flow!
Quick test for any AI tool in your stack: if you stop pushing, does it stop? If your workflow is "AI drafts, human reviews, human publishes," you're the axle. That's a job, not an automation. nitter.cf/talentacommerce/status…
Fun fact I keep coming back to: wheeled carts mostly disappeared from the Middle East and North Africa around 500 AD. The Roman roads fell apart and camels were just a better deal. Same with AI. If your product data is a mess, the camel wins.
Quick test for any AI tool in your stack: if you stop pushing, does it stop? If your flow is "AI drafts, human reviews, human publishes," you're the axle. That's still a job, not an automation.
Did a catalog audit for a brand on Target Plus. 97 SKUs in stock, 23 actually live. AI could have written great copy for all 97 and the buyable count would still be 23. The copy was never the problem. Nothing connected inventory to the listing.
Big launches look great in a Slack screenshot. What actually compounds is boring: test one thing in your welcome email every two weeks. That's 26 tests a year, and nobody else has that data on your customers.
Super valuable day at Vercel Ship. Thanks for putting together a top tier experience! @vercel @vercel_dev
Ship day. I'll be wandering around all day, so come say hi if you see me. Always down to talk shop. #VercelShip
Made it to SF. If you're here for Ship and want to hang tonight, hit me up. #VercelShip
I don’t want hardware with locked operating systems anymore. I want to buy hardware and custom build what I need for my use cases. Just like when I used to buy random bits of parts and assemble a desktop. I’ve think @omarchy is next on my dev journey.
Flying into SF Wednesday for Ship. Who's around Wednesday night? Would love to grab a beer and hear what people are building. #VercelShip
One of the coolest things in the margins of what I’m doing with @bot is to have Dr. Eggbot follow @poteto and incorporate new updates or things she flags into continually improving my team of bots. So far it’s found efficiency that saves money, tests that make sure we still get the same outputs. SO COOL!
