Incredible endorsement from Tim Winton who called Slick a "hard hitting look at the relationship between the fossil fuel industry and its disproportionate influence on government and culture."

"Many books about climate change are worthy but dull. Slick, however, is as readable as it is shocking."
😳
Stunning review of Slick by @RDNS_TAI writing in The Conversation this morning.

From the caption you'd think this is about homophobia or something but no, it's about people protesting an arms dealer expo

Chuffed to be part of @RoyceRk2’s important story of how the fossil fuel industry captured Australia; that @BURRUPHUB has had such a significant impact; that my top precisely matches the book’s cover art.
Go get Slick. Go get outraged and inspired. Above all, go get active 🥂
Need to check my history books, Do fairy godmothers usually try to destroy the planet? Cos Gina does.
I feel sorry for artistic swimmers of conscience who have to choose between the sport they love and advertising the business of their climate wrecking "patron".

What’s truly disturbing is that as world temperatures rise, and alarms ⏰ ring, protesters calling for action are being locked up for ever longer under more draconian laws.
The perpetrators are free, while those seeking accountability are attacked. theguardian.com/environment/…

Really enjoyed doing this podcast. Thanks for having me on @mattstew_art
New episode is out with @Alasdairtb zooming in from Montreal and first time guest @BonnieTangey (comedian by night/lab meat scientist by day)! Heaps of fun with these two titans of comedy/science!
My daughter was reminiscing about my most popular ever tweet so we searched "jacket on a pole" here. I think I deleted all my tweets at some point, but here is the exact photo and caption posted by a blue tick who reminisces about taking the photo in the comments. It lives on!

Oil & gas giant @WoodsideEnergy buys the first 4 pages of @westaustralian to claim their massive new fossil fuel project is ‘Good for WA’
What a desperate, pathetic attempt to fool the public.
Woodside are choosing profits over a safe climate for our kids. They must be stopped!
Australian government ministers aren't legally required to consider the impact of climate change when making decisions. I think this is pretty crook. Please email the Senate Committee chair to support the Duty of Care Bill (report due next week).
