Nolan defeated the much higher ranked Renato Moicano on Saturday night and surged 20 spots in the Tapology UFC lightweight rankings. Nolan now sits in 9th overall, while Moicano drops 4 spots to 13th now having lost 3 of his last 4 fights. For Nolan, the Moicano win was seen by the rankings system as highly valuable compared to his earlier UFC fights that were mostly against fighters with limited UFC experience. At women's bantamweight Luana Santos traded spots with Yana Santos after winning a decision, flipping from 7th to 6th with the victory. Also at lightweight Arman Tsarukyan dropped a spot from 3rd to 4th due to inactivity. Each of a fighter's last 6 UFC fights are factored into their Tapology ranking, but if those fights become multiple years old they can start to decay in their point value. Even though Tsarukyan was active just a month ago in September, his older fights can still continue to decay.

Kavanagh knocked out Ramazan Temirov on Saturday, becoming one of just a few main card fighters to have any change in their Tapology UFC ranking! Kavanagh gained two spots at flyweight and now sits at 6th overall behind Brandon Royval. Royval defeated Kavanagh in July. Both title fights on Saturday produced no changes in the rankings. Champions Alexander Volkanovski and Petr Yan defended their belts and their defeated opponents Movsar Evloev and Merab Dvalishvili stayed in 3rd and 2nd, respectively. Alexander Volkov and Rizvan Kuniev also stayed put at heavyweight following their fight, with Volkov in 3rd and Kuniev in 7th. Aaron Pico gained 5 spots at featherweight following his win over Losene Keita. It's a fast rise to the elite section of the division after suffering an initial defeat in his UFC debut. The fighter he lost to, Lerone Murphy, is currently in 6th.

Malott crushed Joaquin Buckley in the second round of Saturday's UFC main event in Edmonton, Alberta, surging 12 spots in the Tapology UFC welterweight rankings as a result. Malott now sits at #10, just behind former champion Belal Muhammad. Buckley, meanwhile, has lost three straight and falls from #9 to #14. Co-main event winner Jasmine Jasudavicius edged ahead of her defeated opponent Erin Blanchfield in the women's flyweight rankings, taking over the #5 spot. Marc-André Barriault was another big mover, climbing 17 spots to #35 at middleweight after knocking out Kyle Daukaus. Interestingly, Daukaus barely slipped in the rankings and remains at #23, still well ahead of the man who just knocked him out. Daukaus presents an interesting challenge for a ranking algorithm. His record is something of a "boom or bust" proposition, with impressive finishes over highly rated opponents mixed in with decisive losses. The quality wins carry significant weight in Tapology's scoring system, and a single loss, even a knockout, doesn't necessarily erase their value. For now, Daukaus has accumulated enough points from his best victories to remain comfortably inside the top 25, even as Barriault makes a substantial leap of his own.

For anyone who has recently started seeing "Please turn off your ad blocker" messages on Tapology, we wanted to offer some context. These messages have been on Tapology for quite some time. We suspect most of the people newly encountering them are using uBlock, as something appears to have changed recently in how it handles some sites. We haven't made any changes on our end. Operating Tapology at our scale is expensive. Our database is compiled and maintained by hand, with contributions from roughly 40 people. We're one of the larger combat sports websites, serving millions of users and requiring substantial technical infrastructure to keep everything running. We fund these operations through advertising and subscriptions. When someone uses an ad blocker, we generally earn nothing from their visits, but every page they view still uses our servers, and every image they load costs us money in storage and bandwidth fees. We understand that repeatedly encountering these messages can be annoying. For people who prefer not to see ads, we offer an ad-free subscription starting at $3/month, which we think is a reasonable price for someone who regularly uses the site. Regarding the broader combat sports data ecosystem. Some sites offering similar information simply scrape and republish data compiled by Tapology, Sherdog, BoxRec, UFC Stats and others, without permission or the expense of collecting and maintaining it themselves. That information has to originate somewhere. Tapology and other established operations invest considerable resources in producing and maintaining the data that many other services rely on. And supporting millions of users involves substantially greater infrastructure costs than serving a smaller audience. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to advertising and subscriptions. Other blocking tools from uBlock may still work the way you prefer. Ultimately, our goal is to keep Tapology accessible, useful, and sustainable for the long term. Advertising and subscriptions are what make that possible.

Allen finished Christian Leroy Duncan in the 5th round of their main event fight on Saturday, handing Allen his 4th straight win. Despite the win Allen was unable to gain ground in the Tapology UFC middleweight rankings, staying put in 6th place behind the less active Caio Borralho. Duncan dropped a single spot to 17th overall. Andre Fili scored an exciting knockout win in his bout, but in the stacked featherweight division it was only enough to propel him 6 spots forward from 45th to 39th overall. His opponent, Kai Kamaka, was only ranked 81st, part of why Fili's win was not worth more in the Tapology scoring system. Kamaka dropped a spot to 82nd with the loss. Alice Pereira picked up her 2nd straight win after losing her UFC debut. The 20 year old gained 3 spots in the women's bantamweight division to 17th. Her opponent Darya Zheleznyakova dropped 3 spots to 24th.

Silva won a decision against Cong Wang to claim the vacant flyweight title, and with it by default rose from 5th to 1st overall in the Tapology UFC rankings. The most recent person to win the undisputed title by definition is moved to 1st place in Tapology's scoring system, which pushes Valentina Shevchenko down to 2nd after she vacated the belt. Wang stayed in place at 6th after the loss. Payton Talbott quickly finished Deiveson Figueiredo in the co-main event, but the Tapology algorithm had already steeply discounted the value of Figueiredo as an opponent. As a result, Talbott didn't gain enough points to move further ahead at bantamweight. He remains 8th overall. Figueiredo dropped to 20th. Roberto Soldic made his long-anticipated UFC debut with a decision over Khaos Williams. Despite the win Soldic starts off only at 47th in the welterweight division. Tapology looks at a fighter's last 6 UFC fights for rankings purposes, with each contributing points to the fighter's score. With only 1 UFC fight Soldic is at a disadvantage, but can quickly climb the ranks if he has more good outings in his 2nd fight and beyond.

Payton Talbott vs Deiveson Figueiredo is an example of pretty extreme disagreement between Tapology automated rankings and UFC Meta automated rankings. Tapology has Figgy at 18, Meta still with him at 12 despite losing 4 of last 5. And Tapology already has Talbott inside the top-10 because it considered his Henry Cejudo win to be very high value (this could be debated, but that's what our system did).

Pérez picked up her 7th UFC win in a row on Saturday and rose 2 spots to 3rd overall in Tapology's UFC women's bantamweight rankings. Pérez lost her UFC debut in 2022 but it's been all victories since then as she gets closer to a title shot. Dumont drops a single spot to 4th overall. Raul Rosas gained one spot at men's bantamweight after an unusual finish where Raoni Barcelos appeared to be having a severe medical incident. Rosas is now 10th overall while Barcelos is 14th. Montel Jackson was a big mover, rising 8 spots at bantamweight to 11th overall, just behind Raul Rosas. Jackson was coming off of 2 close losses and the Tapology algorithm considered his Ricky Simon win on Saturday to be a valuable one over an established veteran fighter.
