Paired with fast reactors, Jake described used nuclear fuel recycling as the “silver bullet” that can create a cleaner and more sustainable nuclear lifecycle while also enabling the production of vital medical isotopes used to diagnose disease and treat cancer.

Shortly after criticality at the Groves Isotope Test Reactor, Oklo CEO Jake DeWitte welcomed @tboypod’s @NickOfNewYork & @jackkramer onsite for a look at the infrastructure and approach behind the milestone.
Their conversation explored the lessons learned from Groves as the fastest-built fully privately financed reactor project of its kind, as well as how Oklo’s integrated platform across power, fuel, and isotopes is creating a more flexible path to scaling advanced nuclear.
They also discussed what comes next for Oklo, from meeting growing demand for clean, reliable power to investing in domestic fuel capabilities to get ahead of constraints and producing critical isotopes for medicine, space, and other essential applications.
