“Israelis are described as “children” and “civilians,” while Palestinians are “people under 18” and “collateral damage”; Israelis are killed; Palestinians die”
For our next Tech for Palestine Book Club, we’ll be discussing *Don’t Say Palestine* by Dr. Assal Rad, a work of media criticism examining the coverage of Palestine and Gaza by major Western news institutions.
Rad documents patterns in the language used by outlets including CNN, the Associated Press, the BBC, and *The New York Times*, exposing the double-standards and the complicity of the Western media in shaping how the world views the ongoing catastrophe and systematic oppression in Occupied Palestine.
Don’t miss out on this important conversation.

It was an honor hosting Rami Elghandour of Arcellx last week at SF Techweek for a panel on Confronting Genocide! He spoke to a standing-room-only crowd about his $7.8B exit and about being a vocal advocate for Palestine, offering advice to founders and tech workers trying to follow their moral compass. This was our first SF Techweek appearance, and we wanted to face the issue head on.
Huge shout out to our moderator Myesha Lacy and our amazing team of volunteers.

Our latest study found that 1 in 10 employed U.S. adults reported missing work due to fear of Anti-Palestinian Racism.
Among employed U.S. adults who raised concerns about it, about half said they were then treated less favorably.

Getting humanitarian aid into Gaza has become a huge challenge. Aid organisations face restrictions, disrupted supply routes, lack of access, and difficult questions about who controls the systems and information involved in getting aid to people who need it. At the same time, investigations have raised concerns about the involvement of governments and technology companies in humanitarian operations, including the use of Palantir by the World Food Programme.
But people in Gaza are also building their own ways to get support where it is needed. New tech platforms are helping connect communities with resources, support local businesses, and create alternatives to traditional aid models.
In this roundtable, we’ll hear from people working across humanitarian aid, journalism, technology, and grassroots initiatives in Gaza. We’ll look at what is happening on the ground, where the current aid system is falling short, the risks of technology being used in humanitarian work, and what new approaches are being built from the ground up.
