Disclosure gap at heart of Chandra family’s TVS link
Family of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has business ties with TVS Motor. TVS chairman-emeritus Venu Srinivasan voted to give Chandra a fresh term, but neither told the Tata Sons board. Tata Trusts say Srinivasan made no disclosure. Chandra’s wife and son are directors in a firm set up in 2025. Governance questions now hang over India’s largest group.

Employer reports the salary.
PAN is linked.
TDS is automatic.
Every rupee is traceable.
Meanwhile, the employee carries the risk of layoffs, medical bills, school fees ,rent and retirement.
Being easy to tax shouldn’t make us easy to exploit.

HR is evil and the modern hiring process is ridiculous. HR people get off on having people jump through hoops and denying people jobs. I loved the story of the CEO who needed engineers and found out HR denied every qualified person and fired everyone in HR. HR are class enemies.

The Tata boardroom war just got a lawyer.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi — one of India's sharpest legal minds — has confirmed he's representing Tata Trusts.
Harish Salve is on the other side, for Chandrasekaran.
This isn't a boardroom spat anymore. It's a courtroom event.
Here's what actually happened:
Chandrasekaran said he'd retire in Feb 2027.
Trusts started a selection process.
Then — he reversed. Board voted him back in on Sep 17.
Noel Tata, holding 66% via Tata Trusts, voted NO.
The chair used a casting vote to push it through anyway.
Trusts called it "void ab initio." Null. Dead on arrival.
Now NCLT or Bombay HC could be next.
And today — Mehli Mistry, TEDT trustee, broke ranks.
Said charitable trust funds should NOT pay for this fight.
Called it unprecedented in 150 years of Tata history.
The last Tata legal war (Cyrus Mistry) cost ₹200 crore in legal fees.
This one could be bigger.
For retail investors watching TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Chem:
Governance uncertainty is real risk, not just noise.
Articles of Association are now the battlefield.
Who controls the chair controls a ₹40L crore empire.
Big question: Should a 66% shareholder's NO ever be overruled by a casting vote?
Definetly won in life 🤩
I recently ran into a former classmate I hadn’t seen since college.
I remembered how far ahead of any of us she was back then. She worked part-time at a large tech company while balancing school, and it was obvious she had a massive future ahead of her.
I was so excited to see her and hear what she’d been up to.
Now 46, she was beaming.
She told me about the start of her career, then smiled and said:
“Then at 29, I stopped because I wanted to raise my babies.”
She immediately started showing me photos of her kids and telling me about their personalities, interests, and where her oldest wants to go to college.
I knew back then she was going to crush life.
And she very much has!

In your 30s, a good North Star goal is to reduce the time you spend on things you don’t enjoy. You already know what they are. Ruthlessly work towards reducing them.

If you switch from UPI to cash transactions after all this MDR jazz, one thing is clear.
Your spending will lower significantly!
UPI did make the transaction effortless, but sticking to a budget significantly hard.

A friend of mine graduated from one of the top 3 IIMs in 2018. He told me two incidents which reeks in misandry.
1. The summer internship interview window opens in Nov (after 3-4 months of joining the MBA course, formerly PGDM). Many companies take GD as part of the selection process. So, there are prep teams in college, run by the senior batch to help them prepare. One of the things men were regularly taught is, "not to cut a woman's point during the GD."
Apparently, this got too ingrained in his mind during the prep. In a GD round for a top FMCG company, he was slotted in a GD panel with 7 females, and one another male. He and the other guy just spoke once during the GD, because they weren't cutting off the women's points.
2. The 2nd incident he told me was from the interview day. Many companies come with a number in mind - how many candidates they have to take. A top media company had a mandate of 9 females and 3 males. They hired the males after 30-45 min interviews per male. Females were hired within 4-5 minutes of interview. There was no female candidate left waiting for an interview with them after they had selected 8. One of the interviewers stepped out for fresh air, and saw a female candidate sobbing in a corner. She had been rejected by another company. They gave her the offer and closed their process.
He told me a few more stories which I don't want to share, because I don't want to stir up any controversy.

- Between 2016–2026, Indian bank deposits increased by roughly ₹155 lakh crore.
- The estimate is around ₹8 lakh crore of deposits were retained in the banking system because of UPI replacing cash and much more indirectly.
- At around 5–6% is spread on CASA. ₹8 lakh crore can generate roughly ₹40,000–48,000 crore annually for the banking system.
- Even if maintaining UPI costs banks ₹20,000 crore annually, the economics are still positive.
- So saying UPI is simply a “cost” to banks is a lie.
- In effect, it becomes another tax-like cost on the common man.
