Representative @AOC says the polls had her down 35 points on her first Election Day. She won by organizing the people consultants wrote off as non-voters. That's our plan in Florida too. If you've been counted out, I'm counting on you. #AngieForFlorida

I’m fighting to build a Michigan we can afford, a future we can look forward to, and a country we can be proud of. It would be an honor to earn your vote and to serve you as your Congressman.

We are building a movement here in Mid-Michigan to fight for the basics we deserve — good healthcare, good housing, and a future we can all afford.

Remember how Huawei made a bid to build an AI data center for Egypt with its latest Ascend 950 chips?
The US quickly organized a counteroffer. Just days after Xi's visit, Egypt announced a $1 billion, 200 MW project using Nvidia chips.

264,000 errors. @NYCMayor has delivered the largest worker settlement in NYC history.
Since 2023, more than 200,000 Dashers in New York City were underpaid or paid late under the City’s delivery worker pay rules. These errors were unintentional, but that doesn’t make them acceptable. Dashers should be paid in full, on time, every time. We take full responsibility, and we’re deeply sorry.
We’ve reached a $131.5 million settlement with the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. Every impacted Dasher will receive the amount they are owed, and they’ll be contacted directly with payment details.
We understand the impact of even one missed or late payment. We’ve addressed the issues that caused these errors and made changes to prevent them from happening again.

The City of New York asserts this was not a mistake.
“For years, DoorDash failed to count every hour worked by delivery workers,” Mayor Mamdani said. “This was not a rounding error or an accidental mistake.“
The UAW stands with @IGMetall members taking action at more than 100 plants and supplier sites across Germany on 9/21. Autoworkers are standing up to plant closures, layoffs, and concessions—and demanding a future built on investment, secure jobs, and respect for the people who make this industry run. Genug ist genug. Solidarity forever.

The Age of Confiscation is out this fall. It’s a book about how seizing property has been more important to recent history than we tend to think, and about why it is returning in our era of geopolitics, energy and climate shocks.

"AI is gonna shoot productivity to the moon - oh and also society can't afford to pay old people $2k per month anymore starting today"
The main thing I have to say to the young generation of Americans is that your grandparents and great-grandparents committed a kind of accounting fraud when they ran our country a century ago with social security, and at the time it was a reasonable affordance to grant our leaders, who were dealing with an economic depression and a world war, but nonetheless they did commit the fraud, and they ended up buying all sorts of extravagant things using the fraudulent gains, including what became the thing we now understand to be the high-modern technocratic nation-state, and that is glorious and also bad and all that, but the thing is there’s still the issue about the accounting fraud, whose debt is coming due and is coming due fast.
It is best to consider this with as minimal residue of sentiment as possible, to really sit with it, to stare it coldly in the face.
Unwinding the great fraud of the high modernists is your job, whether you wish it to be or not.

Appreciate this from @leahstokes, particularly the emphasis on delivering immediate relief to create policy feedback.
I agree that voters need to feel policy impacts within the election cycle, but we need to be careful. 🧵
The conventional wisdom is the Democrats' big climate law failed to deliver votes, then died. That's wrong. My new study finds its factories moved 2.5 million votes—more than Trump's margin. And the law's still alive.
