Trump: "I thought this was it. I thought I could relax. Twenty-eight days in a row of this crap is a lot."
So @jacobbogage was right when he asked Trump if he was canceling his final rallies because he was sick of all the travel.

an epic campaign story
NEW: On the road with Ken Paxton, a candidate whose turbulent run for Senate may come to embody the end stage of Trumpism.
Can a deeply flawed candidate with all the baggage and none of the charm still win on the strength of his loyalty to Trump?

I obtained the audio of yesterday's CBS all-staff editorial meeting where the Dan Sullivan/Dan Sullivan story was discussed. In contrast to the Fox story's characterization (shared below), I didn't detect any tension or hear staffers clashing or disagreeing with Bari Weiss. Sounded like a standard editorial discussion...
Fox is wrong. That is not what happened in the meeting at all. No one who spoke at the network meeting opposed covering the campaign or story but rather exchanged ideas on how to do it. All of the AK candidates also know they have an open invitation (repeatedly offered) to join Face the Nation. So does the NH GOP candidate who has also been repeatedly invited. I look forward to seeing my colleagues cover it too.
I actually caught this on Fox: foxnews.com/video/6407549345…

Pope Leo XIV has voted in the midterm elections of the United States, expressing his “belief in the right and the duty of citizens to participate in democratic processes.”
The Holy See Press Office announced on Friday that Pope Leo XIV, an American citizen, "has exercised his right to vote as a United States citizen, whenever he was eligible to do so."
The Press Office confirmed that, “in keeping with this long-standing practice of civic participation, he has submitted his mail-in ballot in Chicago.”
“The Holy Father has also confirmed that, during his years of residence in Peru he exercised his right to vote whenever he was eligible to do so,” noted the statement.

Trump and Obama take to the trail. "Watching them both on Wednesday night, toggling between screens and alternate universes as they shot barbs at each other, was a reminder of how very long we’ve been stuck in this loop," writes @sbg1 newyorker.com/news/letter-fr…
Q: "You not going to Kansas has nothing to do with you being sick of travel?"
President Trump: "You're sick to ask that question. You are sick...I don't feel I have to go to Kansas...I feel perfect. You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell!"

Scott Pelley predicts there will be “huge consolidation” between CBS News and CNN. “Do you need two Washington bureaus? Do you need two London bureaus? That kind of thing. ... With $80 billion in debt, those two news organizations are going to get conflated into one – I’m quite certain.”
During panel discussion organized by the group Speak Up For Justice, Scott Pelley says: "In my experience, and having talked to my colleagues as well, there was an imperative to move our coverage in the direction of the president. To put a thumb on the scale, if you will, in terms of the president's viewpoint. ... I had never seen anything like this. This was corporate influence coming into the news division saying, 'We want you to report stories with this particular bent, in terms of politics.' It was anathema to all of us who had worked at 60 Minutes for so many years, and we fought the battle against it. We pushed back against it."
