I had so much fun storyboarding the Akihabara fight sequence. I know Ultraman doesn't have facial expressions, but I couldn't help myself. Thank you @ShannonTindle_1 and @JohnAoshima for letting me do it. I also take my hat off to everyone who worked on this film!!

I got to test out Ken’s transformation in boards, and Shannon made it super clear— “YOU MUST REFERENCE THE CLASSIC!!!” 😂😂😂 It was super fun to draw! Thank you @ShannonTindle_1 for giving a chance to have fun! #UltramanRising #ultraman #netflix

We did try to pay homage to legacy of #ultraman transitions. This shot was handcrafted by the @ilmvfx Singapore team. Special mention to the animation and motion corrective teams on getting the posing absolutely perfect for Ken's transformation. #UltramanRising #Netflix #vfx

Throughout the "Ultraman: Rising" press tour, I've seen some of the same frames appear in articles + reviews. It's wild to think how far they've come from just being drawings to fully rendered frames of art. Below are said frames and the corresponding storyboards.

Some Ken Sato pose explorations for #UltramanRising from October 2020, again based on @ShannonTindle_1's fantastic design. I love how his Toshiro Mifune hair and exaggerated features turned out in the finished film! #ultraman #ken #animation #poses #kensato #netflix
