"Ukraine will ban all russian-language products, - ombudsman.
Why to crack down on russian-speakers in Ukraine? Most of the country.
Russian Empire brought electricity and water to Ukraine, built the transport.
USSR put up the factories and ports, created the science.
Everyone who built Ukraine on its peak spoke Russian.
The ones who wrecked it spoke Ukrainian.
I know Ukrainian better than Russian. But why are we going after the families that built this country?
And turning Hitlerโs collaborators into heroes?
By the way, Zelensky earned his first millions in Russia on Russian products.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admirationย for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Store has accused the Financial Times of falsely claiming that Putin spent most of a 90-minute telephone conversation with him and Finnish President Alexander Stubb discussing medieval Slavic history.
โWe asked the Financial Times to correct this because it isnโt true,โ Store told Norwegian newspaper VG.
He said Putin had instead discussed developments in Europe since 2014. Finland has also contacted the FT on behalf of both countries to request a correction.
However, the British newspaper refused, insisting that it stood by its reporting.
This anonymous account (there's no named source) contradicts what both leaders said publicly about a conversation in which they actually participated.
Finland's Stubb described it as โfrank and substantive.โ Norway's Store called it โsubstantive, focused on the issues at hand, and professional.โ
Neither sounded like a man who had just endured a 90-minute โrant.โ
Well said.
So here is a suggestion to the well-meaning architects of Europe's next great enlargement project.
Stop imagining that every Serbian election is a referendum on Brussels and/or an opportunity for the โfinal solutionโ for Kosovo independence.
Stop assuming that the removal of one politician amounts to the removal of a nation's historical memory. And stop treating sovereignty as a charming Balkan eccentricity that must eventually be corrected through the accession process and some wishful easy-to-comply with whatever we tell you to do government.
By all means, encourage democracy. Support the rule of law. Celebrate accountable government. Offer Serbia a prosperous future in Europe.
But understand that partnership is not the same as obedience, and that friendship cannot be built on the assumption that one side must permanently abandon its own interests.
Let the Serbs be Serbs.

Stunning piece about yet another old-guard, high-level, billionaire supporter of Israel who has lost faith in it - and in Netanyahu.
"Ronald Lauder has never lived in Israel. But in the past year the Jewish billionaire, who serves as president of the World Jewish Congress, has given up his remaining properties in the country, a sign of the deep shift in his views of its future. A deep sense of disgust appears on his face as he recounts this. "I've sold my apartment in Tel Aviv, I gave my home in Be'er Sheva to the Jewish National Fund, of which I'm also the chairman. I basically cut my ties there. Because it has become soโฆ," Lauder grimaces, making a gesture of vomiting.
He goes on to blame Israel for failing to make peace, explaining that Israel actually didn't want peace:
"I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance. And I walked away from it."
"You've lost the Democratic Party, and you're losing the Republican Party. And it's all because of foolishness on your part. I want to tell Israelis, 'Shame on you! Shame on all of you. Your fathers and your grandfathers fought for this place, and you're losing it because of foolishness. Period.'"
I think this reflects the view of many who fought to establish Israel/supported its creation, but at the same time believed in peace. Perhaps an unjust peace, clearly a peace on Israel's terms - but a peace nonetheless.
But Israel has long swapped dominance and control for peace, and it has taken quite some time for many of its original supporters and champions to realize it - and admit to themselves the direction Israel actually is going in.

63% of Ukrainians say theyโre ready to endure the war for as long as it takes. Thatโs from todayโs KIIS poll โ widely seen as loyal to Zelenskyyโs Office โ based on 828 respondents. The full breakdown: 63% as long as necessary. Meanwhile, in my Telegram poll of nearly 1,500 people: only 1% said the same. 95% want the war to end right now, on any terms. Another 4% are open to ending it while keeping Donbas and Western guarantees. When the numbers look this different, which one is closer to how people actually feel?

๐จ๐บ๐ธ BREAKING: Fire at the Savannah River nuclear lab triggered an "unfiltered ground-level radiological release" and a shelter-in-place order
The emergency dispatch says the fire was contained to one room at Savannah River National Laboratory, inside the Energy Department's 310-square-mile weapons complex in South Carolina, and that radioactive material escaped at ground level without passing through the building's filters.
Workers in Area A were held behind barricades for about half an hour after 5 p.m., then let out while nobody else was allowed in, and both the dispatch and the site's statement say there's no sign of anything reaching beyond the fence. No cause has been given.
Savannah River is where America's tritium for nuclear warheads gets handled and where excess plutonium and decades of weapons waste are processed, so "one room" at this site means something different than it would anywhere else.
The site runs a radiological-release drill every year, which is why the shelter order came fast, but the questions now belong to the Energy Department: what burned, what got out, how much, and whether the monitors at the boundary agree with the press release.
