Replying to @HRBlockAnswers
@HRBlockAnswers bug report, multiple and big! On Mac. Software defaults to the wrong location for saving return on setup. After importing prior year's return from a mounted volume, despite designating Documents folder as destination, modal defaults to the import location 1/

@HRBlockAnswers So, when I quit the program (as necessarily happens to install State, AFTER COMPLETING MY ENTIRE FEDERAL RETURN), the software is just like "okie dokie brb!" and you lose all the progress you've made. 3/
1
@HRBlockAnswers this could all be easily avoided by a) defaulting to the correct writing location, such that it matches what was just shown; b) not failing silently on a critical step; c) actually verifying the return had been written before exiting 4/

Now out in Risk Analysis, how early COVID media coverage affected both health behavioural intentions and anti-Asian attitudes, along with several other @UTPsychology alum, @flatlandneuro @worthylab, @profbrencho @molly_ireland3; and @texastacos. Led by @thestevarkian87

This is a more nuanced question than it seems on the surface
Recently got a Roomba and spent 20 minutes discussing proper placement for its googly eyes based on whether it is predator or prey. If prey, would its eyes be on the sides or on top? Thoughts? Please RT for larger sample size - must do good science.
38%Predator - eyes in front
14%Prey - eyes on sides
49%On top, like a flounder

💡 Did you know? When you put Apple's new Leather Sleeve on iPhone 12 models, the Lock screen background automatically changes to a matching color. Here's a demonstration from @ijustine

Public Service Announcement: “pronouns” are words that replace nouns. In English, they include “me”, “it”, “yall”, “them”, “those”, “he”, “that”, etc. Eg, I used “they” in the previous sentence to avoid repeating “pronouns”. What he hates is something else entirely: people.

i'm really appreciating the amount of nuanced takes on this show we're seeing right now. if only we all had a comparably nuanced take on rural america in general, hmmm. (not a dig or whatever, just mostly a thought about how much that show gets right while still lampooning it)

as a tip when designing back ends: i don't recommend having both a user_id and a user_uuid column in the users table (when both are uuids), especially where user_id does not map to other user_id columns in other tables. nor do i recommend extending this practice to content ids.

True story, when I interview *interns*, I often show them a plot like this and a claim like this and ask them to evaluate the conclusion given the evidence, and then if they say things like this I don't hire them.
