1/4 We are hiring!
Interested in the questions raised by this work? We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to join our lab at OIST in Okinawa, Japan.
We study how the brain preserves memory and functional continuity while continuously changing.

1/10 Our paper is out today in Science!
During artificial hibernation, hippocampal firing rates fell by ~70% and synapse density fell by more than half—yet mice retained memories formed beforehand.
How can memory survive such extensive brain remodeling?

How do we create mental maps of the world? By having mice explore mazes in virtual reality, @eunji_kkong @ZabehErfan @attila_losonczy and co. have now shed light on how the brain recognizes familiar and novel environments in @NeuroCellPress.

🧠✨ 1st Taxidis-lab preprint!! How does our brain store information over short intervals? We show that human working memory is supported by internally generated time-cell sequences. Human time cells can encode memory + elapsed time, just like in mice!

We had so much fun at our first Yale Hippocampus Symposium! Full house, thanks everyone for coming. Really grateful to @WuTsaiYale for sponsoring the event and helping me organize it. I hope we can do it again!
📣Interested in doing a postdoc at Yale?📣
We’re looking for someone with a strong molecular biology/biochemistry background who’s eager to learn multiphoton imaging + behavior. No systems neuro experience needed!
Our lab will be at SfN (poster PP3, Monday PM) - happy to chat!
