For those too young to remember, not only is Glenn right about this, but Obama further enshrined Bush's worst civil liberties transgressions. And even took them a step further with extra-judicial killing.
In 2006, Dems won a massive midterm victory due to anger over the Iraq War and Bush's unpopularity. The assumption was they'd end the war. Pelosi's first act when elected Speaker was to say they won't defund the war: in part due to cowardice over the political fallout, in part because so many Dems ideologically opposed ending the war, in part because they wanted to run in 2008 with the Iraq War still ongoing to help them win the WH. Does anyone think the Dems will now use control of the Senate and House to just de-fund the war, as they clearly have the power to do?

maybe why you’re hearing tons of people talk about memory issues, attention issues, driving issues, brain fog, cognitive/learning/behavioral issues across all age groups now. but like, probably just the phones we’ve had for years & not the brand new virus everyone keeps catching
The largest and longest study to date (18.3 million adults) tracking the relationship between COVID-19 and neurodegenerative disorders found that contracting COVID-19 SIGNIFICANTLY increases the risk of developing cognitive impairment and dementia. πŸ”—πŸ‘‡πŸ”

It's our duty to kill their joy. People who get joy at the expense of the suffering of hundreds of millions, they do not deserve to feel joy
I’m really trying to resist the urge to be a killjoy but none of these politicians are gonna do shit. It’s gotta be us

It will never not boggle my mind that this is a real video of Jeffries using George Wallace’s β€œsegregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever” quote positively and in relation to his support for Israel
Hakeem "America is back" Jeffries, who is set to become Speaker of the House, said at a 2014 rally: "Israel today, Israel tomorrow, Israel forever!"

Democrats winning means nothing if foreign policy doesn't change and the architects of the Gaza genocide aren't held accountable. True justice starts with holding war criminals accountable, not political celebrations.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’” @AnaKasparian @DrNeenaJha @RabbiJeffx @Tracking_Power

You guys do realize that winning in an election isn't an achievement in and of itself right? Every time democrats win you elate yourselves to the moon over your "victory" and then it's crickets when those candidates fail horribly and give in to the far right every step of the way
i do not want to hear a single condemnation of hasan piker ever again

Too many people are forgetting that it was the Biden administration that decided to declare the end of the pandemic unscientifically bc the capitalists weren't making enough money and, if we're being real, bc people were radicalizing.

So glad the party that launched a genocidal war in Palestine has defeated the party that launched a genocidal war in Iran. Excited to see what new genocides they'll come up with.

This is exactly why I continue to N95 in all public spaces. If only people knew what covid was doing to their brain πŸ™
Cognitive impairment after COVID is still there five years out - memory, attention, focus, slower processing, orientation, decision making. Severe COVID clearly raises dementia risk too. The largest, longest study on this so far. 18M adults in England, up to 5.5 years of follow-up. 🧡
