when you turn 30 as a dude in SF you have two paths: - wife guy - japan guy

Alright apparently people want SF Chinese food takes lol so here goes the long list: S Tier Four Kings ($$) – absolute goat right now with S tier service too J & X Bistro ($$) – new and underrated more trad spot A Tier Yuanbao jiaozi ($) – beef noodle soup is better than the dumplings Palette teahouse ($$) – upscale dragon beaux / koi palace Hon's Wun-Tun House sunset location ($) – new location has expanded menu of trad canto fare Mr Jiu’s ($$$) – was great, fell off a bit. still good! B Tier Z&Y ($) – best sichuan Oodle Noodle ($) – good and fun rice noodles. uncommon here Noodle Panda ($) – it’s just fine as far as hand pulled noodles go, but they’re the only ones who do it in the city! Overrated spots i'd avoid China Live ($$) – just terribly mid white food media darling San Tung ($) – respect og status, but no reason to go here anymore. Happy Crane ($$) – can’t take them seriously when the chinese character of their logo is mangled af Empress by Boon ($$$) – only reason to come here is to entertain clients Any two word dumpling restaurant ($) – some are dece but the whole category is cursed In general, SF chinese food is not that good! but having lived here 10 years, these are our go-tos! Not counting spots outside of SF. I know the scene is better in south and east bay, but can’t always go out of the city! Also, inb4 “who are you to...” 老子在三番的美食沙漠熬了十年总的有有点发言权了吧 Also, everyone I trust says Fu Hui Hua is excellent,but I haven’t been yet!
