Responding to the Autumn Budget, HDU President Dr Claudia Paoloni said: “The additional funding announced today by the Chancellor to help with winter pressures is welcome. Hospital doctors face increasing demands, the support will ease pressure for some doctors."

"In his statement, the Chancellor called this a budget for workers. However, there was little support for NHS workers. News that the health service is becoming less reliant on agency staffing is welcome. However, a substantive workforce plan remains absent."
