The irony of this article being — yes, you guessed it — behind a paywall.
It has been two decades since English cricket’s departure from free-to-air broadcasts began, but time has not healed the rift that has formed. @willis_macp looks into the conundrum ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026…

The cricket world is in awe. In awe of a 15 year old! 97 runs in 29 balls. Just think about it for a moment. He’s competing in one of the most highly pressured games in cricket and he’s soaking up that pressure and delivering. It beggars all belief. He’s the Mozart of T20
15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to mesmerise! He smashed 97 off just 29 balls in the IPL Eliminator - and on the way he broke Chris Gayle's long-standing record for most sixes in an IPL season. He has now hit 65 maximums in this year's tournament, possibly with more games to come.

A lot of us forget what a magnificent fielder Ian Botham was.
April 19th, 1992: Durham make their debut as a first-class county. They faced the mighty Lancashire in the Sunday League. Once again a certain IT Botham was at the centre of the action.

I always find it strangely fascinating but ultimately deeply unsatisfying to listen to Rob Key explain away Rob Key’s mistakes as if Rob Key were another Rob Key and that the England Test team’s woefully undercooked Ashes preparation and dismally hapless tour was someone else called Rob Key’s fault
