STARTING TOMORROW: New York City begins enforcing Mayor Mamdani’s “Click to Cancel” rule, requiring businesses to make subscriptions as easy to cancel as they are to sign up for. No more endless steps to escape a gym membership, app subscription or “free trial.” The rule is projected to save New Yorkers $21.5 million to $162.5 million every year. If a company makes it difficult to cancel, New Yorkers can report it directly to the city at NYC.gov/click-to-cancel.
