World Bank, Kenya Economic Update (Nov 2026)
Here's what you need to know:
Kenya's growth is steady. The World Bank says governance is what holds it back.
1.2026 growth forecast raised to 4.6%, from 4.3% (stronger first half)
2.Corruption and collusion cost about 2% of GDP every year (higher deficits)
3.83.8% of jobs are still informal (lower pay, less security)
4.A "governance premium" raises Kenya's cost of borrowing.
5.Moderate anti-corruption reforms: GDP +8.7% by 2035. Stronger reforms: +22.3%
6.Governance reforms could support 7.7 million additional and better jobs.
7.Risks: fiscal slippage and the August 2027 election.
The internet isn’t in the cloud. The Internet runs along the seabed.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Scale: more than 1.5 million km of fiber-optic undersea cable across 600+ systems.
2. Share: cables carry 95%+ of international traffic
3. Satellites: only 0.37% of US international capacity (cables move far more data for far less cost)
4. Carrier: light in glass (the lowest-loss, highest-capacity medium available)
5. Problem: light fades, so repeaters sit every 60 to 100 km (a 10,000 km Pacific cable needs about 150 to 180)
6. Power: 10,000 to 15,000 volts DC pushed from shore through a copper conductor
7. Risk: 100+ faults a year, nearly two-thirds from fishing vessels and anchors
In 1977, a Kenyan woman planted seven trees in her backyard.
Everyone around her thought it was a small thing.
Her name was Wangari Maathai.
Years later she became the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
She kept saying one thing, and I think we still haven't absorbed it:
"The push for women's human rights is irreversibly tied with the push for earth to heal. These things are not divisible. In practice, they are the same thing."
She didn't see two causes. She saw one.
And she never believed one person could carry it. Community, she said, is and will always be a collective effort.
Did Ronaldo plan this?
The record says: not quite.
After the World Cup,
he admitted the thought had crossed his mind.
A seed, not a plan.
Then came the walkout.
Thirty days of suspension.
He said he should never have left camp,
and he apologised to his teammates.
He said he wanted to keep playing.
Then the silence ended.
Just after the ban,
he retired.
The federation’s president said
the doors will always stay open.
Who he told first,
the coach or the federation,
is still smoke.
🗣️ Would you change anything about how you handled the Cristiano Ronaldo situation?
🇵🇹 Jorge Jesus: “I wouldn't change anything, absolutely nothing. I made a decision as a coach, putting the interests of my team and the Portuguese national team first”.
“I'm convinced that I didn't do anything to cause what happened”.
Two days after the midterms,
Tucker Carlson posted a fifteen-minute video.
“The Great Betrayal.”
Trump’s own words, played back like an old tape:
Ukraine/Russia ending in “one day,” Iran, Israel, prices.
Three million views.
Then the party’s own voices said the same.
Vance: “The reason we lost is the war.”
Seats Trump won by fifteen and seventeen points
slipped through the fingers.
Trump congratulated Democrats,
but reminded everyone the Veto is still his.
Democrats promise gas, groceries, healthcare.
But a majority without the votes to override a Veto
is a ship with a sail and no wind.
On Tuesday night, the Senate went to the Democrats.
By Wednesday, the House followed, and the market exhaled.
Then Thursday came.
The Nasdaq fell 5.5%. Nvidia lost 8%. Micron nearly 14%.
NPR put the damage at about $2 trillion.
I read the numbers twice, then asked the simple question: what exactly are they afraid of?
The answer given was AI and data centers.
A Texas governor-elect campaigned on pausing new ones.
Exit polls found 56% of voters called AI and data centers a major factor.
It sounds like a verdict.
But do the math the way a skeptic would.
The new majorities can’t override a veto, and the president opposes regulating AI.
Congress alone probably can’t stop a single data center from being built.
And the doubts were already there.
Investors had spent a year asking whether the spending would ever pay off.
One fund manager put it plainly: the market is moving from the promise of AI to its price.
Qualcomm fell 12% on its own earnings miss.
So maybe the election didn’t break the story.
Maybe it just handed a nervous market a reason to say out loud what it was already thinking.
Markets don’t always fall because of the news.
A European debacle,
Hoax bomb threats hit 7+ flights and a cruise ship (3–4 Nov, all false, no claim); hackers seized supermarket fridge controllers in 10+ countries, spoiling food and targeting blood banks, with no ransom or culprit; France's youth led cost-of-living protests have spread to 18 countries.
Creole civilization was originally a mixture of European and African culture. The language of the Creoles is Krio, mix of English, Portuguese & West African language.
Present day Creoles live in Haiti, Caribbean, Indian Ocean (Seychelles, Mauritius), West Africa (Sierra Leone, Cape Verde) & Louisiana (United States).
Dar Al Handasah is providing consultancy services for the Integrated Master Plans for JKIA and Wilson Airport, Nairobi. The project integrates airside, terminal, landside, transport, and urban development planning into a single master planning framework.
Does chain-of-thought (CoT) mean AI can reason? Thinking models write out their steps before answering. This structure goes beyond predicting one plausible next word at compute
Many of its failures were output token limits, complexity threshold issues or when problems shift away from the training data.
These models face the same fundamental limits.
1976: last time Texas voted Democratic for president.
1988: last time Texas sent a Democrat to the Senate.
Liberia the land of the free. Capital city, Monrovia after President Monroe of the US
In 1816 white Americans came together on the idea of finding new homes for American negroes in Africa.
A formal settlement was established in 1822, given the name Liberia. Most of the settlers if not all, were born in America, thus, ‘westernized’
The brain in advanced states of focus, will create a waxlike substance from the pineal gland. This secretion has incredible healing effects & can literally regenerate cells.

Halloween - 31 October - hardly anyone agrees on what it is.
Ask a Catholic and they’ll tell you it’s the vigil before All Saints’ Day - 1 November - a season for honoring the saints and praying for the departed.
Ask a Wiccan and it’s Samhain. It’s a night when the veil between the living and the dead is said to be thin.
Halloween is simply ancient paganism, Against Halloween is purely Christian.
Poland’s President and Prime Minister are fighting over who gets to be a judge. President Nawrocki turned his plane around mid-flight and returned to Warsaw, calling it a coup.
The President is elected directly by voters. Nawrocki won the June 2025 runoff with 50.89%. The prime minister isn’t. Parliament confirmed Prime Minister Tusk 248 to 201 in December 2023.
The President refused to appoint 46 judges. He also refused to swear in three of six Constitutional Tribunal judges that parliament elected. Venice Commision said the president should swear them in without delay.
The tribunal’s leadership was reportedly suspended, and police were deployed outside the court. Tusk says he’s restoring the rule of law after years of PiS-era changes. The President’s side says the government is overreaching.
29 Oct 2026 US DOJ announced Operation Ghostbusters. It charged several people—including at least two Kenyan nationals, one of them Francis Mogambi—in a “ghost student” scheme.
Stolen US identities were used to file fake FAFSA applications, enrol fictitious students, and divert student-aid refunds, with the money sent back to networks in Kenya.
Kenya sent nearly 980 police officers to Haiti over 18 months. El Salvador just put about 2,000 soldiers there in 10 days.
President Ruto waited for a UN vote, a Haitian request and a Kenyan court ruling. It ended with three officers dead and gang leaders neither captured nor neutralized.
El Salvador lost four aviation technicians in an ambush. President Bukele sent troops, said he’d cover 90% of costs, and called it a rescue, not an invasion.
