I am X and I want to be Y
So I want to do A and B
X=gay
Y=straight
A=attend a religious retreat
B= get the congregation to pray for me
This is a "conversion practice"
X=male
Y=female
A=take puberty blockers and hormones
B=have surgery to remove my genitals
This is just fine
This is nonsense, a common kind of nonsense with people like her and @ZackPolanski
If you agree with me about some things but not about other things that isn't good enough
You must agree about everything or you are an evil, racist
It is a fundamental misunderstanding of reality
Dare we hope that the #Midterms2026 could cause the #RepublicanParty to retreat from a personality cult back to a reasonable political party
Dare we hope that this, in turn, could cause the #DemocraticParty to retreat from woke capture back to a reasonable party
Dare we hope?

Oh look.
That thing that never, ever, happens has happened again
Craig Silvey, writer of trans fiction for boys jailed because he's a paedophile.
'Honeybee' is about a 14 yo boy who thinks he's a girl and strikes up friendship with a older man.
Silvey is a paedophile with a particular interest in pre-pubescent boys.
Trans is a cover for the very worst of men.

I understand, and sympathise with, the argument that changing #IRL rules retrospectively is unfair but I have a simple question
Why does Indefinite Leave to Remain exist at all?
If someone wants to live in the UK why shouldn't they apply for citizenship?
I took a sun pic and asked Claude & Gemini to sharpen it
Prompt was "Can you sharpen this image. Don't add anything that isn't there, just enhance what is"
Claude: decent job, explained methods, included before/after images
Gemini: despite the prompt - just made stuff up!
I see many more protestors (100+) have been arrested for supporting Palestine Action
Make no mistake these people are being arrested because they want to be
They could have demonstrated perfectly legally but CHOSE not to
Don't sugar-coat it Kemi, tell them what you think ๐
Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britainโs role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who donโt know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britainโs greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britainโs deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.
I think it's worth watching/listening to the whole two hours of this

For years, activists have claimed it is racist to break down sex crime statistics by nationality. This is nonsense.
It should surprise no one that men from cultures in which women are treated as subordinate are convicted of sexual offences at disproportionately high rates.
So, England snatch defeat from the jaws of victory AGAIN

You might expect the general secretary of the UK's largest union for women to welcome greater clarity on women's rights to single-sex spaces.
But women aren't even mentioned in her statement about the NHS's revised single-sex accommodation policy.
Apparently, @unisontheunion general secretary Andrea Egan is more concerned with the 'safety, dignity and privacy' of men who identify as women.
Her statement is also misleading by omission.
She fails to mention that the NHS guidance makes provision for alternative accommodation for trans patients, including single rooms, subject to clinical needs.
Instead, her statement focuses entirely on the needs of trans patients, without acknowledging the rights or concerns of women who rely on NHS services.
And then there's the ideological language.
Sex is not 'assigned' at birth. It is observed and recorded by a medical professional.
Imagine being a female NHS worker, paying your union subs every month, only to discover that your general secretary Andrea Egan Unison General Secretary is using your hard-earned money to advance men's interests - not women's.
