“A scientific and comprehensive evaluation system for AI applications can help shift the focus away from scale for scale’s sake,” said Prof. Liu Zhiyuan (@zibuyu) @thudcst. He noted that AI’s impact should be measured by real-world outcomes, not computing power or project counts.

When AI advice takes a wrong turn! Prof. Huang Minlie’s Innovative Tsinghua team from @thudcst revealed that covertly misaligned AI advice can shift choices away from optimal options in @PNASNews, raising implications for AI governance.

AI that improves AI. Innovative Tsinghua researchers built Frontis-MA1, a model that writes, debugs, and refines ML code. It pushed success rates from 39% to 71% on benchmark tasks while running on a single consumer GPU, closing in on much larger closed-source models.

How much intelligence can fit into 2B parameters? Innovative Tsinghua team @TsinghuaNLP open-sourced MiniCPM5-2B, scoring 23 on the AA Index with tool use, search, and coding abilities. The system brings general-purpose AI agents closer to phones, PCs, vehicles, and robots.

Can AI agents become reliable employees? Innovative Tsinghua @TsinghuaNLP, together with collaborators from @Northeastern, developed open-source StaffDeck, combining SOP workflows, traceable knowledge, and feedback loops to make enterprise AI more reliable for real-world tasks.

"Build resilience and grow together." At the 2026 opening ceremony, President of the Student Union Miao Shuo @thudcst shared how the Class of 2030 can navigate uncertainties by fostering lasting strength, thriving through mutual support, and applying skills to serve society.

"What matters most is unique ideas, refined judgment, critical thinking & pursuing perfection." At the Class of 2030 opening ceremony, Prof. Hu Shimin @thudcst advised freshmen to make self-driven choices, master fundamentals & embrace the use of AI in their study and research.

“The future of art will be shaped by AI-driven production, traditional human artistry, and human-AI co-creation,” said Prof. Zhang Bo @thudcst. He also emphasized that art should be judged not only on the finished work, but also on the creative process behind it.
