even after watching kiva 3x i wondered why the fangires eradicated the other monster races but jirou is shown eating a human essence similar to fangires could a hunger crisis be the driving factor or do the fangires target humans to create food scarcity (we'll never know)

no but fr these two shots being filmed as if they're from a child's pov, the fact they get kicked out of a restaurant for fighting while wataru is mortified, and both trying to get wataru to side with them is a good depiction of a child internalizing his parents divorce

for megumi, nago represents the systemic oppression she faces as a woman thats why she is so hostile towards his chivalrous actions! she believes he is trying to hold her back whereas nago is equally as stubborn by refusing to understand her feelings or acknowledge his privilege

their affection is mutual and they recognize each other as a fellow warriors so he doesnt understand why she reacts negatively to him trying to take care of her seeing them learn to rely on each other is one of my favorite parts of the show!

Also protip but lowkey about 80% of the time you hear a toku series has "bad writing for women" it's actually just that people don't understand what the show is saying or doing.
