Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick.
A Tribute to Patrick Stewart 1940 - 2026 Sir Patrick Stewart died on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 86, at his home in Los Angeles. Multiple independent outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Associated Press, Deadline, People, Rolling Stone, and NBC News reported the news on October 29 based on an official announcement. His longtime spokesperson, Kelly Bush Novak, stated that he passed following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. The statement continued: He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all. We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace. Memorial contributions were suggested to the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Fund and related caregiver resources. Patrick Stewart was born on 13 July 1940 in Mirfield, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, to Gladys (née Barrowclough), a weaver and textile worker, and Alfred Stewart, a regimental sergeant major in the British Army’s Parachute Regiment who later worked as a general labourer and postman. Alfred’s wartime service, including the Dunkirk evacuation, left him with what is now understood as PTSD; he struggled with heavy drinking and was physically abusive toward Gladys. As the youngest of three sons (with older brothers Geoffrey and Trevor), young Patrick often intervened to protect his mother. The family lived in modest, difficult circumstances. Acting became an escape and a vocation. An English teacher, Cecil Dormand, placed a volume of Shakespeare in his hands and told him to stand up and perform. Stewart left school at 15, worked briefly as a junior reporter and obituary writer for the local Mirfield and District Reporter, and quit when forced to choose between journalism and the stage. After a year selling furniture to save money, he received a scholarship or grant to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (alongside future friend Brian Blessed). He made his professional debut in 1959. Stewart spent the core of his early career on the classical stage. He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966 and remained closely associated with it for many years (through roughly 1982 as a company member and associate artist), appearing in more than 60 productions. He played a wide Shakespearean range including roles in Antony and Cleopatra (for which he won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1979), Macbeth, The Tempest, Hamlet (later as Claudius, earning another Olivier and a Tony nomination), and others, alongside actors such as Ian McKellen, Ben Kingsley, and Ian Richardson. He also performed modern works and developed a celebrated one-man A Christmas Carol. His Broadway debut came in the early 1970s. This rigorous theatrical training gave him the authority, vocal command, and emotional depth that later defined his screen work. In the late 1980s, the classically trained English stage actor was cast as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994). The role made him an international star. He brought Shakespearean gravitas, moral clarity, and quiet authority to the captain’s chair, helping elevate the series and the franchise. He later reprised the character in feature films including Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis, and the series Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023). He often spoke of the part as a highlight because of its themes of exploration, ethics, and the human condition. Parallel to this, Stewart embodied Professor Charles Xavier / Professor X in the X-Men films beginning with the 2000 original, continuing through X2, The Last Stand, Days of Future Past, Logan, and related entries. He portrayed the character with dignity, compassion, and intellectual force—the same qualities he said he admired in both Picard and Xavier. Later appearances included a multiverse cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and a planned return in Avengers: Doomsday. Other notable screen credits include Gurney Halleck in Dune (1984), roles in Excalibur, I Claudius, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, a television Moby Dick (as Ahab), and extensive voice work (including long-running turns on American Dad!). Stewart’s stage and screen achievements brought formal recognition: two Olivier Awards, a Grammy Award (for narrating Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf), and nominations for a Tony, multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He was appointed OBE in 2001 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2010 for services to drama (investiture at Buckingham Palace on 2 June 2010). He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996. He was married three times: to Sheila Falconer (1966–1990; children Daniel, an actor, and Sophia); to Wendy Neuss (2000–2003); and to singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell from 2013 until his death. He remained close to longtime friends and collaborators, notably Ian McKellen, with whom he shared celebrated stage runs of Waiting for Godot and No Man’s Land. Sir Patrick Stewart bridged the classical stage and global popular culture with unusual integrity. The sonorous voice, the measured delivery, the moral seriousness tempered by dry humor and warmth—these qualities made Picard and Professor X enduring figures and made Stewart himself a beloved presence across generations. He turned a difficult Yorkshire childhood into a life of artistic discipline and public grace. The official statement’s description of his final days, surrounded by family, music, and love, is a fitting close to a career spent illuminating the better possibilities of human character. He is survived by his wife Sunny Ozell and his children. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations supporting Alzheimer’s research and caregivers.

Sucks to see this, I loved listening to The Animal, and Luna's "Local Bandwidth" show. This is why I fucking despise corporate radio! At least The Blaze isn't changing their music format. Here's to better opportunities and brighter futures to them both.
As the station’s ownership moves in a different direction, longtime hosts 'Luna' and Jon 'The Animal' Terry say a decision was made to let local talent at The Blaze go.

Spaceballs, all-around funny movie, the combing the desert gag granted is funny. But what always kills me in this scene is Dark Helmet using the bullhorn to talk to Sanders, but shouts to the guys out in the desert. Are we going to let this piece of comedy gold go unnoticed? 😂🤣
Only an 80s comedy could turn a giant comb and a desert into one of the funniest scenes ever filmed. “We ain't found shit!” 40 years later, and this scene still cracks me up.

"(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" is from the Beastie Boys' debut album Licensed to Ill (1986), the first rap album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200. It was written in just a few minutes as a parody of the idiotic 80s fraternity party anthems (like "Smokin' in the Boys Room" or "I Wanna Rock"). Rick Rubin produced, put on heavy guitar and drums and turned what was a joke into a banger. It reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 (peak on March 7, 1987, the only top 10 of their career) and #11 on the UK Singles Chart. On the same day as the Hot 100 peak, the album reached #1 on the Billboard 200.

This is still hands down the most hilarious Whose Line in the history of the show, followed by Robin William's appearance on the show. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Richard Simmons guest starring on WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen on tv. Even the show's editor had to trim out full minutes of the audience laughing so they could get the episode's runtime down to fit in its scheduled slot. Peak television right here.

Sorry that I've been getting lazy about posting for Squeaky Saturdays. You're all probably getting tired of me posting pics of my yeens, or having throwback pics posted. Truthfully, I've been really depressed the last few months, my motivation on a lot of things has suffered
