I asked my friend
the rabbi
if there is a prayer to say
for the start of a plague year
and she replied
that yes there is a prayer to say
for the start of a plague year:
may this be the last year
that I need to begin with a prayer
specifically for
the start of a plague year

Lots of people have asked about how emus react to snow, so I present: Emus in winter, a thread.
(Zal is a leucistic emu, so he's white with blue eyes - it's one of the few color morphs we know of in emu.)

Congressman Madison Cawthorn just offered Kyle Rittenhouse an internship. Congressman Matt Gaetz did the same.
They are sending a message to America that violence is not only acceptable, it's a resume booster for politics.

Hi everyone! I just want to remind folks that no matter how awful someone is, reasonable people do not deadname them.
When you do, the rest of us learn that you respect our identities only as long as we behave the way you want us to.
Who I am is not something you can take away.

So many memes about Mom Friends but so few memes about the Aunt Friend who:
- encourages you to eat sweets
- takes you for surprise adventures (currently: mails you surprise gifts)
- gives the no-bullshit sex advice
- if you cannot reach her, she is in the garden doing rituals

Wolf had found the evening paper in Old Fox's desk. He took it to his room & with heavy paws found the toll ~ 163,515. He wrote the number carefully in his diary & thought of each soul, earthy & loved as roses, high & holy as falcons, fire stars raken into the breath of night.
