I’m hard-pressed to believe that BTJ went from 87/1,282/10 to a 250-yard receiver. No idea what happened, aside from the hospital-ball/“hearing footsteps” murmurs from 2025… but like, he averaged 75+ yards per game as a rookie. He averaged 50+ yards per game in his second season. There’s just no way he went from that to a guy barely cracking 10 routes ran per game purely because of skill-related issues. As it relates to the Patriots, I don’t know what the cost would be… but the fit with Drake Maye’s vertical passing prowess and the need for a boundary receiver makes so much sense. I mean, this guy is 6’3” and recorded the second-fastest speed by a WR in 2024 (22.15 MPH). There are just SO many redeeming qualities, both from a prior production and physical profile standpoint, that it’s incredibly difficult for me to believe this guy is suddenly a lost cause.

I’m so confused by the Derrick Henry rumors. I genuinely don’t see how this helps the team’s future… at all. And even in the short term, are the Patriots really a 32-year-old, soon-to-be 33-year-old Derrick Henry away from making a legitimate Super Bowl push?
The Patriots have significant trade interest in running back Derrick Henry Per: @AtoZSportsNFL 👀

He just built Christian Gonzalez.
I asked Patrick Surtain II to build the ultimate CB. Here’s his standard. 👀

I’ll forever cherish the 2010-2018 Patriots. It’s a bit heartbreaking to see the most important member of that trio turn into somewhat of a sellout… but you know what they say.. don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened.

I wish I shared the same excitement everyone else does over Mack Hollins return. He’s a boost, but it’s like.. he’s not changing the offense or adding a prolific element.

I’m so confused by all these reports and what seemingly appear to be the Patriots priorities. I understand that Drake Maye is very good, but why are we talking about trading for EDGE3/4 depth while continuing to roll out a WR group that made life incredibly difficult on Sunday and is perpetually dealing with injuries? You have numerous guys reportedly available who could 1.) provide stopgap solutions and depth, or 2.) offer legitimate upgrades. After all, there’s no real long-term plan at the position. Or like… pursue some guard depth, even if the market is sparse? Idk. Instead, we keep seeing reports about pursuing EDGE help in the form of depth pieces… which I’m fine with, but it feels like the priorities are completely backwards. And then we’re hearing about potentially trading Carlton Davis, trading Barmore, etc.? Am I missing something? Is this team 1-7 or 5-3? They’re EIGHT games removed from a Super Bowl berth, and we’re seriously talking about selling off contributors for Day 3 picks? What are we doing here?
The #Patriots are looking to buy ahead of the trade deadline and are believed to be seeking edge help in particular, per @AlbertBreer. Breer mentioned a reunion with Commanders OLB K’Lavon Chaisson as a potential outcome. “They are out there looking at buying too. I think they would like to go and get some edge help. Maybe they could bring K’Lavon Chaisson back from Washington… They could add an edge player somewhere over the course of the next week, week and a half.”

Idk how people get stuck in these endless loops of terrible takes like Kurt Benkert and Greg Bedard do… but man, it must suck to be them.
The funniest bit on this app is: “X would be getting X if he did this!” Every single QB is under immense scrutiny and this app is an extreme amplification of that scrutiny for all.

I don’t see how this is an “oh boy”, he’s just been cryptic. That’s not inherently bad nor new. This is just a typical media storyline. There was legitimately no conversation around his shoulder during a very good camp.

Remember the shoulder talk?🤣
#Patriots QB Drake Maye absolutely launched the post on the Kyle Williams touchdown after sliding up to avoid pressure. Air distance of 46.9 yards. Wish we had the MPH.

Maye joined Tom Brady (2009 - Oct. 18 vs. Tennessee and Oct. 25 at Tampa Bay; 2007 - Oct. 14 at Dallas and Oct. 21 at Miami) and Mike Taliaferro (1969 - Nov. 23 vs. Buffalo and Nov. 30 at Miami) as the only @Patriots quarterbacks to throw two 30-yard touchdown passes in consecutive games.

Nyck Harbor might be the most fascinating prospect in the 2027 NFL Draft. His career trajectory and progression, or lack thereof, sort of lead you to believe that maybe his demonic athletic profile is just a mirage and doesn't actually translate to football… but it is SO rare to be 6'5", 239 pounds and move the way he does. Calvin Johnson was also 6'5", 239 pounds at the Combine and ran a 4.35. There’s a legitimate possibility that Harbor could beat that. He’s reportedly hit 22.4 MPH on in-game tracking and is rumored to have reached 23.8 MPH during a practice drill. He might genuinely have 4.2 speed. The issue is… there’s a hell of a lot more to playing WR than being a freak athlete. I haven’t watched enough of his in-depth All-22 film to really dissect the nuances of his game yet, but the lack of production is obviously concerning. For comparison’s sake, Jeff Caldwell was 6'5", 221 pounds and ran a 4.31 with a ridiculous 10-yard split. Consensus board has him as approximately a fourth-round pick, ultimately went undrafted, and is currently being redshirted with an injury designation. That’s what makes Harbor such an interesting evaluation. The physical tools are legitimately generational, but how much does the lack of development and production outweigh the upside? Where do you think Nyck Harbor goes in the 2027 NFL Draft? And how do you envision his NFL career playing out?

Winning the Super Bowl is very hard By definition only 3% of teams will win every year The best way to put yourself in that group of teams that even *reasonably could be* that 3% is having an elite qb Short of that, it’s having an elite roster FA/trade can supplement / put you over the top but these are essentially auctions with 31 other teams on known players w/ NFL tape, you’re unlikely to get great value The best way to build an elite roster is hitting on draft picks and having star players on undervalued contracts Not saying you never trade picks (there are times to do so) but in general need to give yourself more bites at the apple not fewer, especially when you’re not already a top-10 team And no, just because a specific GM has missed on picks in a certain draft range in the past doesn’t mean those picks are worthless.
