Great talk by @ClaraWakonigg today at the British Association for Cognitive Neuroscience Annual Conference in Brighton, presenting some of our latest work! 🧠

What if much of human thought is navigation? 🧠
New open-access review: I argue that the DMN + hippocampal–entorhinal system form a domain-general engine for "mental navigation" across physical and abstract spaces (e.g. social, conceptual, and value).

Something new and interesting looks like it’s brewing at #OHBM2026 😂😁 onlygrants.net
Another great poster from the lab at #OHBM2026 Elisa presenting her work on altered sound sensitivity and brain structural differences in misophonia!

Thrilled to share the full roster of presentations from our COGNIZE Lab at #OHBM2026! 🧠
From naturalistic behaviour to conceptual knowledge, hippocampal morphometry to social cognition, here is a thread on what we've been up to 🧵👇

Awesome @ClaraWakonigg presenting our work at #OHBM2026 Come say hi if you're around and chat about experiential state spaces, default thought patterns, and neural dynamics! – at Bordeaux, France
The neural correlates of art! Great stuff!
What makes an artwork beautiful, and can your brain's response decode such hidden dimensions of aesthetic appeal? We built a framework to find out 🎨 🧠

Another great piece of work from @neurodenizen lab!
New from our COGNIZE Lab in Advanced Science:
Beneath the Big Five, personality consistently organizes into two dimensions, each with distinct brain signatures. Amazing work by postdoc @KaixiangZhuang and thanks to all our collaborators! doi.org/10.1002/advs.2025090…

New paper in PNAS! When the mind wanders, it often drifts to the body. We call this "body-wandering". These thoughts are often negative, but are associated with reduced ADHD & depression symptoms, driven by a distinct interoceptive-allostatic brain signature. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.25…
Great stuff from @neurodenizen's lab. No surprises there. Already looking forward to what comes next!!
🧠New paper alert (the 1st one from our new lab)!

How do our brains distinguish novel from familiar places as we explore our environments, e.g., a new city?

Brilliant @ClaraWakonigg committed to sharing our work under the hot Greek sun at #ASSC28 in Crete. If you're around and want to know more, come talk to us!
If you're at #OHBM2025, go check out this brilliant work! I'm getting some serious FOMO here! 😊
Big year for our lab at #OHBM2025!
Thrilled to present an exciting mix of posters, talks, and lots of brainy fun 🧠🤓

No time to read our new review on the DMN and attractor states? Worry not.
Now available as an AI-generated podcast via NotebookLM & Deep Dive, and honestly, not a bad job at all 😄

After a fantastic week at #OHBM2024 in Seoul, I had an amazing time giving guest lectures at @FudanUni's GRIPS event. Visiting @neurodenizen's lab was equally incredibly productive, discussing cutting-edge research and future collaborations. Thanks for the great experience!
