I second this take:
NFTs can be durable digital toys
I've been quietly frustrated with crypto for a while. Some of it leaks out on the timeline. Most of it happens in group chats with friends, where I keep trying to name a product category I can feel but can't quite articulate.
Here's my best shot: NFTs can be durable digital toys.
Think about the toys you had as a kid. If it was in your drawer, you could come back 20 years later and, as long as nobody threw it out, it was still there, exactly how you left it.
Digital things don't work like that. The company goes out of business or gets acquired, the servers shut off, and your stuff is just gone. And more and more of our lives are digital.
So what makes a digital toy durable?
It's yours. Provably, verifiably yours. Not "yours until the terms of service change." You should be able to come back years later, read the chain, and pick up right where you left off. The actual data, same as it was before.
It's expandable. As a kid, you'd grab two sets of toys and imagine what they could do together. You'd race your cars down a ramp you built out of blocks. They were sold separately, by different companies, but in your room you played exactly how you liked.
Onchain toys work the same way. You don't need my permission to build on what I made. If you want to use it in a way I never would, just ask your favorite coding agent to build the thing you always wished existed! No need to wait on me.
Rare means rare. When something might carry real value, you need honest bookkeeping. If we release 100 of something and rescind ownership of the contract, we cryptographically cannot make more. Anyone can check. No mystery pack odds. No quietly printing extras.
Here's the thing, though. Nobody wants to buy a "verifiable toy." That's not fun. The blockchain can be the source of truth. It's there if you want it even if most people will never look at it. The toy is the point.
That's what we're building with Chonks.
Your Chonk is yours. It doesn't depend on us at all. Its traits and history live on-chain, so if you come back in ten years, it's right where you left it.
It's expandable: anyone can plug their Chonk (or anyone else’s) into a game, a comic, or some weird tool we never imagined, no permission needed.
And when we drop a trait collection, the number we say is the number that exists. Forever.
We spent years treating this stuff like it was only about pictures and floor prices. I think what comes next is a lot more fun.
Durable digital toys: digital toys that are actually yours.

Opensea’s details are missing the full storage provenance: you will find them best in 0xchain art storage section
You can of course verify using etherscan too!
Thank you teto for sponsoring a mint to Hyperion ☀️🌕
Choosing city/seed was surprisingly easy: Christchurch (Ōtautahi) has a special place in my heart. It was also the gateway to expeditions to Antarctica where humanity pushed its boundaries, just like we continue doing with ⛓️

I suggest you to do some reading and you might reconsider that take. A report I recommended is report.projecteleven.com/
Even pessimistic scenarios project that Bitcoin is fucked way before 2050
Congrats @0xzxch and @whatsfloor18 -- it looks like the 2016 $test token you built tooling for is minting out imminently!
Feels a bit like when the fully on-chain community came together to mint out OnChainMonsters 6 months ago!

I want to say thank you to @whatsfloor18 for creating this awesome site! It will tell you exactly how to wrap your $test and more 🔥

Thank you @1980kcom for the kind gift of Lost Freedom #2 ("/PR1V4CY/7H3/UL71M473/CURR3NCY/")
The artwork has been vaulted and will be kept safe hopefully for the decades to come in OnChainChecker treasury ⛓️
