Freedom of speech is an inseparable pillar of democracy. Censoring @elonmusk and other successful companies goes against the principles of a free and democratic EU.
It was an honor to receive today the German Minister of Environment, Mr. Carsten Schneider, @schneidercar.
I appreciate Germany's interest in dialogue with countries of Central Europe, in particular regarding the ongoing reforms in the EU, including emission permits, de-bureaucratization, and the alignment of climate goals with industrial competitiveness.
I also informed the Minister about the upcoming Slovak presidency of the V4 and my intention to invite the ministers of Germany and France, as representatives of the largest European economies, to the negotiations in this format in order to intensify the voice of Central Europe.
My sincere thanks to Anacláudia Rossbach @AnacludiaRossb1 and @UNHABITAT for the excellent organization of @WUF13Azerbaijan. In today’s world, marked by energy insecurity, geopolitical instability, and military conflicts, strong international cooperation is essential to build resilient, sustainable, and secure urban spaces for future generations.
Pleased to meet with Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze @PM_Kobakhidze during #WUF13 and to discuss the steadily growing relationship between Slovakia and Georgia. We reaffirmed our shared interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual benefit and deepening the constructive partnership between our countries.
It was a great honor to meet with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, @presidentaz. Slovakia highly values Azerbaijan’s partnership and reliable support, particularly in strengthening Europe’s energy security during challenging times. I am pleased to see the relationship between our two countries continuing to deepen and expand across multiple strategic sectors.
Slovakia is rich in water, while the world faces shortages. Some countries must manage every drop, and Slovakia can serve as an inspiration and a valuable partner for technical cooperation and knowledge exchange in water management. Water diplomacy should be a pillar of Slovakia's foreign policy, opening doors to mutually beneficial cooperation. Recently, I signed a cooperation agreement between Slovakia and Egypt, initiating this collaboration.
Today in Rome, Minister @takac_richard and I signed an MoU with @FAODG Qu Dongyu. This initiative will help Slovakia become more self-sufficient and fully leverage its potential in agricultural production. We aim to harness Slovakia's enormous potential and enhance our agricultural sustainability by achieving more effective processes and higher added value.
Following my speech at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN, I had the honor of meeting with Secretary-General António Guterres. His task is immense, given the current geopolitical and social challenges.
Today, the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic signed an agreement with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Programme, Anacláudia Rossbach, in Geneva. The agreement establishes a prestigious UN regional office for the sustainable urban development agenda in Slovakia. In this way, our country is being brought to the forefront of one of the most important UN programmes, creating a unique opportunity for Slovakia's contribution towards this great initiative.
Great joy for all Catholics in the world, the Church has elected a new Pope, who has chosen the name LEO XIV.
The first American Pope addressed the world stressing that in the end, love and peace will overcome evil. By choosing their name, Popes usually refer to their predecessors and indicate what form of papacy they will implement. Pope Leo XIII was a traditionalist who opened the Church to the modern world.
I wish and pray that under the leadership of the new Pope, the Church remains united, firm in faith, open to people and courageous when it is persecuted.
President Trump has every right to say that the war between Ukraine and Russia must be ended with an agreement and needs to end as soon as possible. This war cannot become a global war, and whoever wants the opposite cannot count on external support.

Yesterday I privately visited the Czech Republic. I had the honor of having friendly talks with former President Miloš Zeman, great supporter of good relations between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. I also met with former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, and finally I gave an interview to Xtv.
The Czech mainstream media and certain government politicians sometimes suffer from an obsession with spreading fabricated stories about Slovakia, such as the most famous one about the threat of Slovakia leaving the EU. But the relations between the two nations and our economies have much deeper roots than a few activist campaigns, which are just as superficial and hysterical as the ones displayed by the opposition and MSM here in Slovakia.

Včera som absolvoval súkromnú návštevu Českej republiky a bolo mi cťou absolvovať priateľské rozhovory s bývalým prezidentom a veľkým zastáncom dobrých vzťahov medzi Slovenskom a Českom, pánom bývalým prezidentom Zemanom, bývalým premiérom Babišom a nakoniec som poskytol rozhovor pre Xtv.
I just concluded a successful working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where I had the opportunity to establish a dialogue on mutual cooperation.
I would like to express my gratitude to H.E. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of KSA and H.E. Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of KSA, for their invaluable time and our meetings that created a prerequisite for bilateral cooperation between our countries.
KSA makes huge investments in the sectors of the future, without which even the transformation of the industry is not possible.
Concrete opportunities for Slovakia and its entrepreneurs will result from this engagement.
During today's meeting with @matteosalvinimi, I thanked the Italian Deputy PM for his unyielding and consistent approach when protecting European borders from illegal migrants, which he implemented while he was Minister of the Interior. We also agreed on a coordinated approach as to the reassessment of commitments under the Green Deal and other environmental regulations, which destroy Europe's competitiveness and fail to ensure the well-being of EU citizens.
Today I had a friendly meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini. Among other things, we agreed that the election of Donald Trump is excellent news!

Today I continue my visit to China with a program in Shanghai. I will be opening the Sino-Slovak business forum, which represents a great opportunity for the development of economic relations between the two countries. On Tuesday, I will represent the Prime Minister at a business summit with the Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia and Uzbekistan.
Today we started the official program of the Government of the Slovak Republic visit to China with joint negotiations between the governments of our two countries. Specific areas with room for development of mutually beneficial relations were identified.
The highlight of today's program (and the entire visit) was the meeting with President Xi Jinping and the Speaker of the parliament Zhao Leji.
Today, on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, I also signed an agreement on implementation of modern technologies in the field of industrial transformation. We also discussed possible cooperation on infrastructure projects with our Chinese counterparts.
At the end of the day, we opened a Slovak-Chinese business forum, which was attended by more than 150 businessmen. Contacts were established and will certainly bring benefits to both countries.
Following the visit of the capital, my program will continue in Shanghai.
