It was an honor to join Joseph Van Harken and Eric Kunnen last night and represent @GVSU as CIO100 winners for our work in innovative use of AI. Excited to be a part of this team. We are just getting started!

Yesterday, we hosted our second annual @GVSU Technology Summit. It was filled with remarkable, inspiring, and intelligent people representing our students, faculty and staff who have shared and demonstrated their creativity in collaboration with @gvsuIT over the past year. While there are many people I want to thank, I would like to highlight the planning committee members Melissa Cunningham, Katherine Fay, Kim Kenward, Jennifer DenOuden, Kyle Macciomei, Matthew Roberts, Celeste Lareau, Harrison Fletcher, Hunter Bridwell M.S. and Mari Comai ll- and in particular our master of ceremonies extraordinaire Eric Bellmore. Special thanks to @PhillyGVPres , provost Jennifer Drake and our opening keynote speaker Dr. Imran Mazid Finally, this wouldn’t be possible without our premier sponsors @Blackboard and Propeller. Thank you!

As a leader, have you created a culture and an environment where people are working and getting things done or are they simply performing for you?

Measure value and impact, not activity.

A couple of fun-filled days in New York hosted by our @CNBC colleagues and friends. Thanks for having me CNBC Technology Executive Council and for organizing a great event.

A wonderful couple of days in @visitmusiccity for the @HotTopicsHT event focused on leadership, experiences, technology, and community. Honored to have had an opportunity to share a perspective on leadership and culture across organizations and industries and to learn from amazing people.

At that same time I also got to meet @tonyhawk - a man who inspired generations to try something new, take risks and be themselves. He also shared a great story of humility, perseverance, belief, and courage. Thanks for sharing your time with us.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the greatest ones to ever lace them up, Mr. Sugar Ray Leonard. Thanks for organizing it @Zoom and thank you for the photo and a brief chat @SugarRayLeonard

Time invested in relationships, learning and the exchange of ideas at Zoomtopia by @Zoom was well spent this week. Leaders Connect sessions were particularly valuable for what’s ahead. Thank to Gary Sorrentino - @ericsyuan - Travis Sterne and to all others for being wonderful hosts. Until next time!

Over the next week, my travels will be far and wide. From Los Angeles to Nashville to New York. All focused on reconnecting with colleagues, meeting new ones and learning as much as I can in service of our team and our university. Added bonus is a speaking opportunity or two and a premiere of an interview I did last month - more on that when I see it myself. 😉

With hundreds online, and dozens in the room, we had a great @Workday Student launch event today. This journey took many months of hard, selfless work by hundreds of amazing people of @GVSU and our partners from Alchemy. As I stood in the back of the room, it was evident that people were tired, yet determined to see their work go into production later this month. Official go live is less than two weeks away. Onward! 🚀
