Topline Weekly Review (Sep 25, 2026):
The KSE-100 Index closed the week largely flat as volatility in crude oil prices and heightened US-Iran tensions kept investors cautious and indecisive.
The major event of the week was the government’s signing of long-awaited upgrade agreements with four of Pakistan’s five oil refineries—ATRL PA, PRL PA, NRL PA and CNERGY PA. The agreements envisage approximately $5bn in investment over the next five years, aimed at modernizing refining capacity, increasing production of cleaner Euro-V fuels, and reducing furnace-oil output.
Average daily traded volume and value during the week stood at 670mn share and PKR.22bn respectively.

The market remained range-bound during the session, with the index trading between an intraday high of 0.39% and a low of 0.36%, before settling at 170,766 points, up 0.16%. The lacklustre activity was attributed to investors’ preference to remain on the sidelines amid elevated crude oil prices and a lack of meaningful progress in negotiations between the US and Iran.

Traded value wise PSO (PKR.1.63bn), CNERGY (PKR.1.41bn) PPL (PKR.540mn), SEARL (PKR.530mn) and ATRL (PKR.523mn) dominated the trading activity.
