Torc Brewing Company

Seems like a good theme music for the case! youtu.be/tW_fR7fNrEE

Here's a good test case. We are happy to be sued by 300 people, mostly from #Chicago (including a billionaire), who want exclusive use of the word Killarney for whisky and other products. A good public interest question. Check back for our defence in due course.

Provenance is important, especially for whisky. Is it ok to use a placename if you don't make whisky there? Is it right to trademark well known placenames? We say no. Placenames are cultural heritage.

Floor malted barley going through our grain dryer. Slowly dropping moisture from 43% to around 14% for brewing. All done in house #killarneywhisky #lovekillarney

Maturation stock increase all the time

Our spring barley crop at Grenagh townland east of Killarney doing well under the blue sky today. Rain forecast for the weekend will do no harm at all. The #Reeks in the background.

WARNING: THIS IS CUTE KERRY HOORISM! This whisky was not made in Killarney. It is an attempted hijacking of the valuable brand that is #LoveKillarney and all that it represents. We are the first distillery in Killarney and our whisky is ready in 2023. Get behind us ye hoors!

Label says Killarney so it should be distilled in #Killarney. We have heard someone well-known in the local whisky trade say that "it doesn't matter where it was distilled", i.e. branding better than provenance. We disagree.

I wish the current weather was this good. Difficult conditions for harvesting our organic barley

Our organic barley at @BallyharFP is heading nicely #lovekillarney #provenance
