NEW: FSU may prefer to retain Mike Norvell and increase roster spending.
Sources tell 247Sports the Seminoles will need to pay well above market to make that work.

Agree with this. As a photographer, it can be brutal at times with the number of people on the sidelines who have no actual role in the game. Sideline access has gotten way too crowded.
Embarrassing incidents between players and fans seem to be on the rise in college football.
Maybe it’s time to tighten up those sideline passes and treat the field of play like the workplace it is.

We can acknowledge that FSU got robbed last night and still appreciate how hard those young men fought. Both things can be true. But emotion cannot replace evaluation. Four ACC wins since 2024 isn’t a bad stretch. It’s a systemic failure of the standard. This is Florida State. The conversation has to be bigger than one Saturday. At some point, you have to stop celebrating competitiveness and start demanding championship-level results again.

My FSU thoughts on last night in Miami on @Cover3Podcast
Bottom line: you played your A game, your rival played their C- game, and you lost because their C- is as good as your A because you suck at recruiting and developing players. Simple.
Also hotseat thoughts.

SMU is the only FBS or NFL team in the last 30 years to have:
-3 or worse turnover margin
twice as many penalties as their opponent
fewer rushing yards than their opponent
lower TOP than their opponent
more missed FG than their opponent
...and yet still win the game.

I became a Knicks fan as a kid when they drafted my favorite player, Charlie Ward. I can’t believe it. Let’s go Knicks!

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
