Hardest part about doing crypto PR? Convincing projects who had a bad PR experience that we are very different. Guess it makes sense in crypto - where we try to not let the bad actors define us. Thanks, Dave.

Vibranium Labs. $4.6M seed, 30-day project. Nine pieces in a week: Fortune, Business Insider, PYMNTS. Founder exclusive, investor quote, embargo. That's the whole seed-round mechanism.

Ran press for a congressman's office. In 30 days it was the most televised on the Hill. Every morning: what's the story, what does our guy know that nobody's saying, which producer needs it by 11. Same program for a founder.

What a round should get you. Seed: Royal $16M, 15 pieces. A: Vise $14.5M, WSJ headline. C: Labster $60M, TechCrunch exclusive. D: Anchorage $350M, 15 pieces. Benchmark: 7 to 12 pieces, 2 to 3 tier-one.

Deputy press secretary to Education Secretary Margaret Spellings, Bush administration. The booking I still get asked about: the first sitting cabinet secretary on The Daily Show. Go where your audience already is.

Royal. $16M seed, Aug 2021. 15 pieces: Billboard, TechCrunch, Forbes, Rolling Stone, Axios, Fortune. A seed round in Rolling Stone, because we pitched the song, not the token.

EarnOS was still in beta when we started. One week in: CNBC, plus interviews with the NYT and Fortune. No launch, no round. Just a founder who could explain the GENIUS Act the week it mattered.

Anchorage Digital. $350M Series D, Dec 2021. 15 pieces: Bloomberg, TechCrunch, Reuters, MarketWatch, WSJ Pro, Axios, Fortune, same day. I'd been on it since stealth. The round is easy when the story's three years old.

Kartel AI came to us with zero coverage from their last firm. Five interviews in 30 days, a CBS Sunday Morning segment, and the CEO announcement in every Hollywood trade in one day. Axios exclusive, LA Times front page.

I was an AP reporter at 21. Watched editors kill 80 percent of what hit the desk. Every pitch I've written since gets that read first: not "is this interesting to us," but "is this what an editor keeps."

"It takes time to get coverage" is the most common line in PR. EarnOS was in beta when we started pitching. A week later: CNBC, plus interviews with the NYT and Fortune. Coverage doesn't take time. Relationships and a point of view do.

I've run 36 funding announcements. Most of the work is decided before the term sheet is signed, which is why most go wrong: the firm hears the news the week of. Step one: decide what the round means. Not what it's for. What it means about the company.

36 funding announcements. What the ladder shows: the amount is not the story. Bitlayer's $11M got 25 pieces because Franklin Templeton was the news. Royal's $16M seed got Rolling Stone because fans could own a piece of a song.

I built an AI employee whose only job is getting my team to answer the other AI employees. His name is Gus. Part cheerleader, part coach. He finds the question nobody answered, tags you first, and sometimes brings a meme. Building is pointless if people don't use it.

I was an AP reporter at 21, then deputy press secretary to Rick Perry and to the U.S. Secretary of Education. Started Ditto PR in 2012. 36 funding announcements, about $2.1B raised, 20 clients acquired. Founders google me and find crypto press releases. Here's the rest.

If the instructions only make sense because I wrote them, I want to know before launch. I'm using Opus 5.5 to play five first-time users and test what I've built. Simulated users, not proof of demand. The five-user prompt is in the article.
