Last Friday, some of the members from The Disability Lane met with the team at the National Union of Women with Disabilities of Uganda (@NUWODU) to formally introduce ourselves to the new Executive Secretary and share updates on our work around popularising the African Disability Protocol (ADP) and digital skilling. The engagement was an opportunity to reaffirm our collaboration with NUWODU, which continues to serve as our fiscal sponsor under the Disability Justice Fund for Women, supported by ADD International. We are particularly delighted to be receiving support from the Fund for a second consecutive year. This continued partnership is an affirmation of the importance of sustained investment in advancing the rights and leadership of women and girls with disabilities, and we are excited about building on the work we have already started. Following the meeting, our team participated in an orientation on safeguarding, including a review of the safeguarding risk matrix for our upcoming project, "Media Advocacy for the African Disability Protocol." We also aligned on the activities and budget for the current quarter, setting the stage for coordinated and effective project implementation. And, of course, we had to make room for a little celebration! We cut cake because good news, new beginnings and milestones worth celebrating deserve a cake-cutting moment. 🥳 Here's to strengthened partnerships, shared commitments and advancing disability rights through media advocacy and digital inclusion! #AfricanDisabilityProtocol #DisabilityJustice #DisabilityRights #ADDInternational

You can't fix what you don't track. Disaggregating mental health data reveals specific systemic gaps and barriers that general statistics hide, ensuring every student's reality drives actual policy changes.
Use Disability-Disaggregated Data to Improve Mental Health Services Universities and relevant stakeholders should collect and use disability-disaggregated mental health data to identify gaps, understand students' experiences and design services that respond to the invisible.
