A journey that started at Wankhede and ended at Narendra Modi Stadium as the World Champions! 7 Matches across 5 Cities and 2 Countries. I thought i would do a small thread where I will share my experience from each matchday and stadium. Home worldcup doesn't come often and it's one of the best way you can spend your money. Don't listen to anyone else #INDvsNZ #T20Worldcup2026 #TeamIndia

Finally, someone is speaking about one of the biggest safety concerns for fans attending cricket matches. The lack of proper public transport and last-mile connectivity from stadiums is a serious issue. Some stadiums in India are much safer to commute back from, largely because of better public transport. Safety also varies from city to city. The BCCI needs to work with local authorities to make stadiums safer and more accessible, especially for women and families. Arrange buses for stadiums on the outskirts, provide safe and well-lit routes, and allow women fans to park closer to the stadium instead of walking through deserted roads. Even metro stations become chaotic after matches, making the journey difficult for women and families with young children. If we want more people to experience cricket in stadiums, safety and accessibility cannot be an afterthought. Everyone deserves to enjoy the sport without constantly worrying about how they will get home.
“Ek kachori, do samosa… In mardon ka kya bharosa..." How safe is a cricket match in India for women, especially the late-night games? Several women fans/reporters open up about their thoughts about a topic that hardly (anyone?) Is spoken about. wisden.com/cricket-news/i-do…

Vaishnavi Sharma with a Fifer today :)))
Love this side of Harmanpreet Kaur. She was among the first to back Vaishnavi and get her into the team, and you can already see why she believed in her. Vaishnavi is still young and raw, but the talent is there for everyone to see. She has the potential to be a fantastic bowler for India going forward, especially in ODIs, where her ability to pick up wickets in the middle overs can be so valuable. Backing young talent and giving them the confidence to grow is so important. Hopefully, Vaishnavi goes on to achieve great things for India.

Devdutt Padikkal’s recent success is a reminder of why going back to basics is so important in cricket. He went back to domestic cricket, put in the hard yards and worked with different coaches to fine tune his red ball batting. The talent was always there, but sometimes you need to take a step back to move forward. Unreal knock from Padikkal. And perhaps, this is exactly why the management would prefer him over Sai Sudharsan. When you put in the work and get the results, it speaks for itself. Played Devdutt!!!

At 37, when people were saying it was over for Harmanpreet Kaur, she walked in with India 2 down inside 4 overs and scored a century with pure class. Built a fantastic partnership with Pratika, played those backlift shots with so much authority and then stitched another solid partnership with Deepti Sharma. People will keep doubting her, but Harmanpreet Kaur out there knows exactly what needs to be done. She has done it time and again. Pure class. Didn't even raise her bat and no celebration after her century.
𝙃.𝙐.𝙉.𝘿.𝙍.𝙀.𝘿 of the finest quality 💯 Harmanpreet Kaur compiles an excellent 8️⃣th ODI century ✨ Updates ▶️ bcci.tv/matches/88d47fe3-ead… #TeamIndia | #INDvZIM | @mflone_ | @ImHarmanpreet

Jintimoni Kalita's story is a reminder of what it takes to chase a dream when you have very little. As a young girl in Mangaldoi, Assam, all she wanted was to play cricket. She started with a plastic bat and ball, coming from a family that struggled to afford proper cricket equipment. There were financial struggles, sacrifices and moments when even her cricket bat became a point of disagreement at home. But she refused to give up on the sport she loved. Years later, Mumbai Indians signed her for Rs 10 lakh. And today, she is making her ODI debut for India. From a plastic bat and ball to wearing the Indian jersey, Jintimoni's journey is proof that where you come from doesn't have to decide how far you can go. Some stories are bigger than cricket. Go well Jinti!!

ODI cricket once again proved why it is such an exciting format. England scored 429 with Harry Brook smashing a double century, and Sri Lanka chased down 430 to create history with the second highest successful run chase in ODI cricket. This is what makes ODI cricket so special. You get to see the game change over 50 overs, the pressure building, the momentum shifting and the emotions in the dressing room when a team pulls off something like this. T20 cricket is exciting, but ODI cricket has a different feel to it. The time, the pressure and the way a game builds over 50 overs is something else. The emotions you see after a win like this are exactly why I love this format. ODI cricket deserves so much more attention than it gets. The ICC needs to make sure this format stays relevant and doesn't slowly fade away. What a chase by Sri Lanka. Absolutely historic. This is why ODI cricket should never die.
🚨 HISTORY CREATED BY SRI LANKA. 🚨 - Sri Lanka chase down a mammoth 430 Vs England in ODIs, the second highest ever successful chase. 🤯

Nike and Indian cricket have a history that goes well beyond the IPL. For those who grew up watching the Men in Blue in the 2000s, remember the Nike swoosh on India's blue jersey? Nike became Team India's official kit sponsor in 2006, beginning an association that lasted until 2020. For 14 years, the brand was part of India's cricketing journey across formats, with some iconic Indian teams and unforgettable memories along the way. Globally, Nike has built its identity around performance, innovation and its association with some of the biggest athletes and sporting teams in the world. The swoosh became more than a logo. It became one of the most recognisable symbols in sport. Now, with Mumbai Indians announcing a partnership with Nike, the brand returns to the IPL after its association with Deccan Chargers in the inaugural 2008 season. From Team India's iconic blue jerseys to the Mumbai Indians colours, Nike's return brings back a piece of cricketing nostalgia. For fans who remember those Nike India jerseys, this one hits differently. Well done @mipaltan

Raipur crowd showed up, and how! Honestly, I did not expect Raipur to turn up like this for women’s cricket. Seeing kids, families and fans come together, cheer for the team and genuinely know their cricket was such a heartwarming sight. The World Cup win has had a massive impact. It has brought more people closer to the game and inspired a new generation to follow and support women’s cricket. The numbers might be around 5,000 to 6,000 per match, but the passion, the noise and the energy in the stands were right up there. Sometimes, numbers alone cannot capture what the crowd brings to a stadium. And to make it even more special, the Smriti Mandhana captaincy era began in Raipur. What a moment for the city. This is what the growth of women’s cricket in India looks like, and I hope this is only the beginning.
Loud cheers, high-voltage action and full heart 💙 Thank you Raipur, you were amazing 🙌 #TeamIndia | #INDvZIM | @mflone_

Lovely to see so many kids at the stadium today. They really loved how Smriti Mandhana and Shafali batted. Class act altogether. Decent crowd and loud at times! One last game on Tuesday!

Rinku Singh being out of India's squads still makes no sense to me. What exactly did he do wrong? 112 against Bihar. 118* against Goa today when the entire team made 202. Back to back Ranji hundreds and he's back doing what he's always done. Going to domestic cricket and scoring runs. People remember those 5 sixes and discuss him like his entire batting ability is hitting the last 10 balls. Bhai this guy can actually build an innings, bat through a collapse and score runs with the tail. Today is another example. Gambhir & the selectors need to have a proper plan for him. If he doesn't fit your T20 combination then atleast look at what he can offer in other formats. You can't just put a finisher tag on someone and ignore everything else he does. Feels like Rinku has to start his case from zero every few months. How many times does the same guy have to go back and prove that he can bat?

The way cricket fans turn online banter into personal wars is honestly ridiculous. I have said this many times, Smriti Mandhana is undoubtedly the best batter in the current Indian team across all formats. For me, it was never about an individual, be it Harmanpreet Kaur or Smriti Mandhana. It has always been about the team first. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that is absolutely fine. At the end of the day, my goal is to support the team, and every player on the field deserves the same support. Fan wars need to stop, whether it is men's cricket or women's cricket. I will always support the team, not fight over individuals. Smriti Mandhana is respected the same way and there's way too many tweets which people tend to ignore.
In between only one real queen! Smriti Mandhana!
