🥈| ALEXANDRA TRUSOVA — SILVER MEDALIST AT THE CUP OF CHINA! 🇨🇳
Congratulations to Sasha on winning 2nd place at the Cup of China! What a wonderful return to the Grand Prix podium. So proud of you, Sasha!
Our queen!🚀
📃| Alexandra Trusova after the short program:
“The short program is over, and overall, I have good feelings. I think I was a little short on rotations in the spin. It's a shame that I lost points because of that. But everything else went well, and I'm happy. I'll try to do just as well in the free skate.”
— Was it difficult to wake up for the morning practice?
I'm generally quite relaxed about early practices. At competitions, it doesn't matter to me what the time zone is or how early the practice is. What matters more is the break between practice and the performance: it shouldn't be too short or too long, like it was in Kazakhstan. Here, everything worked out really well. It was all very relaxed. I went back to my room, had time to rest, put Misha down for a nap, and then headed to the rink without any rush.
— You're in the top three after the short program. How comfortable is that position going into the next stage of the competition?
“Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me. It only determines which starting position you'll have in the free skate and how many points you're behind first place. I'll just focus on doing my own thing. Skating fourth is actually great.”
— Did you expect to receive so much support in China?
“There's always a lot of support in China. But I'm still amazed every time by the number of fans. The way they cheer, shout, and give us gifts — I'm incredibly grateful to them for all of it.”
— What are your main impressions of the Grand Prix?
“I hadn't competed in five years. A lot of new things have appeared during that time, but overall, it's probably quite similar to how it used to be. The only difference is that I'm an adult now.
At first, I felt like I was back in juniors, when you're competing for the first time and everything is new to you. But then I gradually got used to it, and everything felt normal again.
So, it's really cool and very interesting to interact with everyone. I'm enjoying everything!”

📝| Makar Ignatov after his performance:
“First of all, I’d like to congratulate Sasha. She did an incredible job. She was simply a hero today. I’m happy that things worked out for Sasha and that I had a good performance as well. She has another competition coming up soon. I hope she gets some rest and regains her strength, while I prepare for tomorrow.”
— What is the most valuable thing about what she does?
“The most valuable thing to me is her. Everything about her. If she wants to skate, if she wants to jump, I will only support her. I don't want to focus solely on figure skating; there is still so much more ahead. The most valuable thing is her.”
📝| Mone Chiba:
“Alexandra has been my idol since my junior days, and I really admire her. She is the person who opened the era of quadruple jumps. It is a great honor to compete alongside her. She motivates me to improve and push beyond my limits.”
📝| Yana Rudkovskaya on Sasha Trusova:
“Without a doubt, Sasha can be considered the clear leader of Russian women's singles skating. An undisputed leader. With her quadruple Lutz, if she performs her full technical content, she is unquestionably the leader. And not just in Russian figure skating, but in the world. If Sasha’s technical elements ‘crush’ the Japanese skaters’ component scores, what more is there to say? She is a phenomenon.
Trusova is not just a girl who jumped quads at 15–17 and won a few things. No. She has an extraordinary life story. An incredible journey of overcoming challenges: becoming a mother and still jumping a quadruple Lutz. I don't know if there will ever be anyone else in the world capable of repeating her journey. Will there ever be another case in history of an athlete returning after four years and not simply making a comeback, but also performing ultra-C elements?”

📝| Alena Leonova disagrees with the results of the ISU Grand Prix event in China. According to the former figure skater, Alexandra Trusova deserved to win the competition in Shenzhen.
“I was very surprised that Sasha ended up in second place. That is absolutely not where she belongs. She definitely should have won this competition. If you look at the protocols, everything is quite clearly reflected there. Chiba is a wonderful figure skater who has been competing internationally for a long time. She even finished fourth at the Olympics, just one step away from the podium. But that doesn't change the fact that the protocols show how generously her grades of execution were awarded.
Meanwhile, Sasha doesn't receive the same scores, even though she made no mistakes, had no flaws or poor landings. Chiba, I should point out, had an under-rotation for which she received a negative grade of execution. For example, Trusova receives two or three points in bonuses for her step sequence, while the Japanese skater gets four or five. I think that's exactly where the answer lies as to how the placements were determined. Even the Korean skater, despite performing a triple Axel, doesn't receive bonuses like that. I find it strange and difficult to understand.
Nevertheless, I'm very happy for Sasha. I'm sure she will achieve her goals. Today's performance was simply fantastic.”

📝| Ilya Averbukh congratulated Alexandra Trusova on winning silver at the Grand Prix in China.
“Trusova’s performance can only be described in glowing terms. Sasha did an incredible job. This is the true comeback of a great champion.
An excellent program. Sasha is improving with every competition. It’s wonderful to see her skating cleanly. She landed an incredibly difficult quadruple Lutz!
Over the past 3–5 years, we’ve heard about many ‘comebacks’, but the only true one has been Alexandra Trusova’s.”

🎥| Makar Ignatov worries about Alexandra Ignatova more than he worries about himself.
A few minutes before his own performance at the Russian Grand Prix, the figure skater watched his wife's routine. Makar admitted that worrying about Alexandra feels different from the nerves he experiences before taking the ice himself.
“It's a different kind of nervousness. When she's skating, there's nothing I can do anymore. When you're nervous about yourself, everything depends on you, but in that situation, there's nothing you can do.”

❕Alexandra Trusova was selected for doping control.
The figure skater took the procedure in stride and shared her plans for the rest of the day:
“First, doping control, then the medal ceremony, and then putting Mikhail to bed.”

📝| Alexandra Trusova on her current form and consistency:
“I’m glad I managed to get into good shape. For me, just like before, only first places matter. The rest don’t. But I’m happy that I’m able to skate cleanly and consistently. I hope it continues this way.”

📝| Alexandra Trusova answers a question about her health after the free skate at the Grand Prix in China
— It seemed like you were experiencing some discomfort during your performance. Is that right?
“No, I wasn’t.”
📝| Alexandra Trusova reacts to her husband's victory in the short program at the Grand Prix in Yekaterinburg.
“I just found out that he is in first place. I’m very happy for him, congratulations! I wish him good luck in the free skate. Tomorrow, it will be easier for me to watch him than it was today. But today was harder for him, not for me, since I had already skated earlier.
Someone messaged me saying they thought he wouldn’t even come out to compete because he was so nervous. He always says that about an hour before I compete, he becomes completely unable to do anything, he can’t even train when he’s watching me, and watching me compete is even harder for him.
Thank God, we got through today. Now we’ll wait for his performance tomorrow and mine next week.”
