Ponte is live 🌉
Ponte is a bridge between your crypto and everyday life, from Europe to Nigeria, running inside @nimiq Pay.
Most crypto apps stop at "you hold coins". Ponte is about what comes next: turning NIM and USDT into cash and things you actually use, and back again, from your phone.
What works today:
- Swap NIM ⇄ USDT, no gas. Sign once and Ponte pays the network fee. Tested with real money on mainnet, both directions.
- Cash in and out with real people. A seller locks USDT in an escrow contract on Polygon. You pay in euros (SEPA Instant, Revolut, Satispay) or naira (bank transfer, OPay, PalmPay), and the USDT is released to you. Nobody holds your money in the middle. If something goes wrong, an independent arbiter decides from evidence both sides sign with their wallets.
- Take NIM with your own QR. For a shop, a market stall, a hairdresser or the office coffee machine. Create a QR with your logo in 30 seconds and print the poster. Customers scan with their phone camera, Nimiq Pay opens, and they pay in NIM priced in € or ₦, straight to your wallet. Ponte takes no fee.
- Ponte gift codes. Buy €5 or ₦5,000 of credit with NIM and send it to anyone on WhatsApp. They don't need a crypto wallet to receive it.
- Every receipt stays with you. Codes, tokens and receipts live under "Your purchases", and you can find them again from your wallet on a new phone.

tested the swap feature on @tryPonte platform with the little polygon i have left on my @nimiq pay app and it was seamless and swift
you can swap as low as 0.11 Polygon to NIM in seconds without barrier
and guess what, i found so many other things interesting... seems we'll be able to pay bills like - buying of airtime, electricity bill, Tv subscriptions and even data subscriptions soon

Nigerian bills now work end to end in our test environment: electricity for all 12 DisCos, DStv, GOtv, StarTimes, data and airtime.
Type a meter number and Ponte shows the owner's name before you pay, so no more "wrong meter" losses.
Prepaid tokens appear on screen in seconds, ready to copy.
